USA Today page that have pics of the Transporter Room, complete Bridge playset ( for 3 3/4" scale), Communicator and Enterprise starship toys.

The Bridge is a "build-a-set" kind of thing--where you have to assemble it from buying several different sets.

It looks quite large, and somewhat detailed.

I'm not into the figs, but if they (Playmates) continue with the familiar characters (Shatner, Nimoy, etc), I think I could get into them. And the transporter and bridge sets are pretty cool looking so far! I'd get those just to have, even without the figs.

Hey we got some pics posted here:

More Star Trek Movie Toys From Playmates Unveiled

by JayC

We first showed you Playmates' new 6" Captain Kirk figure from the upcoming Star Trek movie. Now USAToday has unveiled more cool stuff coming from Playmates like a 3 3/4" Bridge Playset, Transporter Room Playset and new NCC 1701 Enterprise.

The Star Trek movie will open in theaters on May 8, 2009 and new toy line from Playmates should start hitting shelves sometime around April 2009.

Yep, I feel the same way, since from the moment I saw the pics of the actual bridge. They are visual clutter and they seem unnecessary.

The toy of the ship confirms my "fear" and dislike of the design of the warp engine pylons now that I can see where the hangar bay is located. There's too structure where the hangar is, and where the support structure for the base of those pylons SHOULD be. It looks visually awkward, but that's the designer in me crying out.

I'll definitely be getting these.

Ditto.

I am grateful Playmates has the license to make these!

We knew that playsets were coming. :D

Can't wait to see them in stores.

I figure the glass panels are probably some kind of displays/readouts There looks to be something etched on the one in the upper right corner, at least. I doubt they're just putting up glass panels just for aesthetics.

Aside from those panels, the bridge isn't much more cluttered than most of the other bridge designs we've seen.

Here they are:

Believed to be:

Sulu

Old Spock

Uhura (cadet)

Pike

I look at these figures and remeber the DS9 an TNG figures I used to get from Plamtes in the early 90's

What happened?

The old ones from the 90's looked like the characters these aren't that well done

Same here. At the very least this line would make customs of the original crew an easy task. It'd be awesome if they made the original Bridge as a playset as well. I'm not even into this new film; but that playset is pretty sweet.
