$9.89

Here, that's about the price of the comic 2-packs -- $9.89 or $9.99. Think both Target and Wal-Mart have lowered prices slighty for singles back down to $6.84 (my guess is from the lower price of oil affecting both the materials and transportation factor).

The only ones who lowered their price was Target. This was done way before Xmas to price match Walmart. It has nothing to do with lower oil prices.

Hmm.. don't think so, because I recall local Wal-Marts pricing their single-packs over $7 too a while ago. At least the ones around here both lowered their prices and coincided with about the same time as gas and oil price drops.

Hey Darth, this is what I sent to Target and the response I got back.

I am writing you today to bring to your attention what I consider a serious error of the pricing of an item at a specific Target location. The item I am concerned about is DPCI # 087-06-0021. (G.I. Joe 3 3/4 Action Figures) The Target in Yukon, OK (store # 2460) has this item priced at $9.89 each. This is three dollars higher than the $6.89 price point set at the five other Targets in a ten mile radius of Oklahoma City. The $6.89 is the average national price from Target for this item. I was told by a toy department associate that they thought the price difference may be caused by this Target (store # 2460) being located in a higher earning area. I may have believed that theory if all the items in the store or even just in the toy department were priced higher than most other Targets in the area but this is not the case. The item in question is the only ones to carry this large of a price difference. For example another item, DPCI 087-06-0336 (G.I Joe 3 3/4 Comic Book Two Figure Pack), is also price at $9.89. This is the average national price for this item at Target. I think this may have been where the error was made. Someone entering the prices in the computer may have inadvertently entered the price for the Comic Packs for the Single Figure Pack.

Please let me know what can be done to correct this error so that local children and collectors won’t be overcharged for these items.

And the sent back:

Thanks for writing with your comments. It sounds like you have some concerns with the price of G.I Joe figures.

We've established our policy so guests may expect a great value on all our merchandise. Target doesn't price match or price adjust with other Target store locations. I'm sorry for any disappointment this has caused.

We're always evaluating the wide variety of services and merchandise we offer you and I've shared your concerns with our Store Operations team. Just like us, they always welcome your feedback.

We're always looking for ways to make Target even better and appreciate your help.

Wow. Definitely sounds like she just skimmed or blew you off. I'm much more inclined to believe it's a pricing error too with those numbers.. But bleh. Minor inconvenience? Over here, local availability of Joes/TFs is pretty low in my immediately closest Wal-Mart and Target so I don't tend to even bother visiting them much unless I happen to just be passing by.

Thank you for trying. Luckily, I only pick up the occasional G.I. Joe, but I hate the big chain store mentality of "talk to corporate" and when you do they don't care. What a sad time for action figure collectors.

For me I prefer getting the cases from bigbadtoystore because they actually sell the figures single or waves. If Hasbro did that, then I probably would buy from them. As far as the individual figures at stores I draw the line at 7 a figure, unless I got to have it. Especially considering all the lovely repaints hasbro is rolling out. I have to say I am getting rather annoyed with hasbros sneakiness as of late. Putting wild weasel in a comic pack, then released with the rattler, and releasing Tripwire in a comic pack, then single carded with a peice to mass device. Not cool.

Just get what you need from hasbrotoyshop. You have to pay some extra for shipping but you can usually find a discount code and don't have to hunt if they have them in stock. Which they normally do and one point or another

Well that still doesn't do some of us who get charged sales tax any good. I think shipping has increased too. $7 for 1 figure. @grumpy@

I would just try another Target and Wal Mart!! To hell with that store!! You know what you could do, is buy up all the peg warmers at one store, and return them to the overpriced Target!!! They have to give you the return, sure the same amount as you paid, but you'd be sticking it to them!!! Ha ha ha!!

Oh and Indy figures were around the same price as well!!! They must think collectors are stupids that will buy anything at any price!!

i used to work for corp. target and i KNOW for a fact that they can match the price. all they have to do is verify the price at teh other store.

it DOES suck that they charge more at dif stores. the target closest to me has joes at 6.86 and the one 2 miles further has them for 7.99. guess where i always end up finding all the new joes?

i would buy the crap figs at the lower priced store and exchange them for figs at the higher priced store

or else go to the lowere priced store and ask for a refund of the amount.

The Joes at both Target in my area are 7.99.

Swung by the Decatur store and they dropped the price back below 7 bucks. Just an FYI,they've got Wave 7 of the Comic Packs in too. And the scanner says they've got the Ultimate Battle Pack back in the stockroom for $27.

if single joes were to go that high, i would not buy.

Nor would I.

Same here. If they hit 10 dollars at wal-mart target..... I am all done. Honestly, my hostility will sell everything.... ok maybe keep a few.

I don't understand the need to sell your collection then. You obviously won't get the same amount you paid nor will people pay $9 a figure for yours.

I just won't buy. Sooner or later they will need to clearance them then.
