The next competition will begin next Monday (12/15)

 

Here is how the competition will work. In a Thread that will be started by me called “G.I.Joe Cartoon/Comic Trivia Contest” I will post 1 trivia question each day next week (Mon-Fri) sometime between 11am and 6pm EST. that will be assigned to a particular team member from each team. ONLY that team member can send in their answer for that question via PM to me. The first team to PM me the correct answer will get the points for that round. Each question will be assigned a certain number of points which will be announced as each question is posted and the team that wins that round will then be assigned those points. The team at the end of the competition with the most points will be the winner. If by some chance you send in a incorrect answer or a team member other than the one who was assigned the question sends in the answer your team will have points subtracted from their total. In the slight event of a tie at the end of the week we will have a bonus run-off round between those teams that are tied.

 

Also during the times of 11am and 6pm EST we could ask a bonus question that any team member will be able to answer and the first team to PM me the correct answer will get whatever points are assigned to that bonus question. Bonus question will only be posted by me and be titled “G.I.Joe Cartoon/Comic Trivia Contest Bonus".

 

At the end of each round I will update the team standings with the current points and which team won that particular round with and what the correct answer was.

 

EXAMPLE of how it will look:

 

Thread Name: “G.I.Joe Cartoon/Comic Trivia Contest”

 

Question 1: What was the name of the first G.I.Joe animated mini-series?

 

This question is assigned to the following team members to answer and worth 2 points:

Each team member will be assigned at least 1 question with some of you with less than 5 members on a team having to double up.

 

Also forum (non-team) members are welcome to post what they think the answer is in the question thread, or maybe what they want you to think the answer is. In other words someone if they were so inclined might post an answer that is wrong but sounds good to try and trip you up, so if you use their answer and send it in with it being wrong it could cost your team points. We will be doing random drawings during the week of those "Helpfull" forum members who posts their own answers. Those people who have their name drawn will be entered into a pot for grand drawing at the month to win a prize. (look for announcement of what that prize will be in the days to come). Then again maybe they are being helpfull and will give you the right answer @firedevil@.

 

If your team have any questions about the rules for this competition please have your Team Captain PM me with it and good luck to all of you. Oh and just in case you were wondering, the questions will be much harder than the one used in the example here

Also I will have more details for the custom and dio contests later this week but we will take 1 entry from each team for both these contests. The entries must have been dones by at least one or more team members. The entries will be voted on by three judegs: myself, Outsiders and Joeryno.

 

We will be looking at a number of catagories with each catagory having an assigned number of points, and the entry that ends up with the most point will win the competition. We will have more specifics on those catgories in a few days but all teams should be working on their entries now. The will need to have their dio entry ready to submit by 12/22 and their custom entry by 12/29.

Now this is getting frustrating. I just read through all the posts, and thread's for about the 15th time, and there is no mention of that "rule" until the end of the competition. How can anyone keep up with the rules if they change every time we log in. For that matter, what the heck is the point system? It was never posted prior to the competition, and doesn't make any sense at all. It's just arbitrary numbers that don't seem to relate to anything.

Actually no rules changed. I never announced the complete scorring system. A Change would constitue me saying it was one thing and then doing another. However for this competition, the points will be assigned in the same amounts and order as the toy trivia contest. Each question will be worth the same as the ones last week and the team who wins will get the extra 10 for winning the competition.

 

Here is my question though, is whichever one of you all who don't win going to end up complaining that it wasn't fair ect ect? Cause when Rockshields team lost their lead last week all of a sudden it was the questions were to easy and why was the one they got less points than the other? And now because Goofeater's team lost the lead there is more complaining.

 

Seriously guys im trying to make this as fun and fair as possible, and we took the time to create this competition to give you guys something fun to do as a community. There is no real benefit to us doing this other than just trying to help this community and we even threw in the prize as extra fun, but the whole idea was for everyone to have fun, not worrying about who is going to win or loose.

I second that on my teams behalf! Been fun scrambling for the answers. I know todays question will not get an answer from my team....neat being in 3rd place with 0 points. Guess we are just not fast enough with the answers! Still fun to try to find out these answers, get them correct, and hope like crazy that you are the first to answer.

I did mis-speak here for the points, so now you can say I changed the rules on you Sorta.

 

Anyway yesterdays was 15 and todays is 20.

 

Question 3 will be worth 25

 

Question 4 will be worth 30

 

Quesiton 5 will be worth 35

 

anf the winner of the competition will get 10 extra points on top of those.

is that enough to make the joes part of the crossover?

Yes. It was the joes. The Beyonder had changed a building to gold and the joes were called in to transport the gold after it had been cut up to someplace safe. It was basically a nice little nod to GIJoe who at the time was published by Marvel. It wasn't a huge part but technically they did have a part in a major Marvel crossover event and so thats the answer to the question. Sorry but Transformers/GIjoe is not considered a major marvel crossover event.

We are heading into the holidays next week and im sure many of you will be busy and even traveling. I had origally said the custom and dio contests would take place in the final two weeks of Dec.

 

What I want to know is would you rather wait till after the holidays to begin those two contests basically starting the 3rd competion on January 5th which is the first monday in January. Team Captains if you could discuss it with your teams and let me know if that would work better for you or not I would appreciate it.
