dcuc series 5 found!

I found the Riddler a couple weeks ago (probably because he's the extra figure) but no luck on any of the others. So I flew home for the holidays and on my first trip to WM I found BL, 2 Amazos a bunch of Riddlers (easily 10) and one completely demolished Eradicator. At first I thought someone had taken the Metallo arm out since the ENTIRE back of the packaing had been ripped off and it was hangin on by the tape at the bottom. But it was still in there, so I figured since I open them anyway, it was all good. I bought Erad, BL, and Amazo. Now all I need is Atom. I'll keep checking back but if I can't find it, I'll just hit up ebay or F&S in a few weeks.

 

Store Exclusives SUCK. What a headache.

Store exclusives aren't fun to begin with, but when you do it with

 

- a line as popular as DCUC

- with distribution problems like DCUC's

- for stores that don't all carry the line

- and in stores that aren't around much and are closing

 

it's a terrible, terrible thing.

Hey whenever you hear of a nice sized find at a Wal Mart close to yours, then definitely check out yours as well!! I went because of the report of several cases being found at a San Antonio Wal Mart, an hour away, so that's how I lucked out!!! I'm sure you all know this, but just wanted to reiterate it!!

The later in the season it gets, the more I think that these figures are coming out in January for most Wal-Marts. I haven't seen hide nor hair of this series, but it baffles me why they wouldn't put them out during the Christmas season. I dunno.

 

 

Actually i think the exact opposite, the later it gets with this exclusive line the less chance you find them. I wish everyone luck on it but bring on wave 6!

I suppose so. Later that day I went to the local TRU to find some gifts for my kids and found all the new DCUC 2packs. I got Cyborg/Mongul, Orion/Lightray, and Abin/GL for myself and picked up an extra Abin/GL and Orion/Lightray for a buddy back in Cali. I skipped on the Batgirl/Az because I already had both of them. If they were samrt, they would have repainted her in the black and yellow costume to get everyone to rebuy it. As it was the Azrael looked slightly different but I couldnt put my finger on it. Does anyone have side by side shot of the single and the 2-pack versions? or do they know what the difference is?

Went to Walmart by my house this morning (Buena Park, CA) and they actually had lots, several complete sets, more then when I first found them there and picked up my set. I was stressing the Red Hulk Target exclusives when they came out, worried I was not going to find a complete set, and now that series is clogging isles at every Target I go. So I thought well maybe just Target is on top of keeping their exclusives on the shelves, now seeing this with DCUC wave 5 at my Walmart, I being to have some hope that maybe I'll actually be able to finish my Ares wave at retail

Thanks for the info. I am headin to Walmart tonight so hopefully I can get any wave 5. Also you are right about red Hulk since l have not seen the wave for a few months and finally, when I did, it took me four weeks to complete it (went to a walmart every Mon and found Spider on week 1, surfer and warlock on week 2, jack on week3 and spiral on week 4.)

 

Since you are in Southern Cali, I am hopin to see the walmart wave over here in northern CAlifornia.

I have yet to see them around where I live, though apparently they have been found in at least one store in my state. Just not in any of the ones in my travel radius. But then, I have not been hardcore hunting them, either. Because of the holiday, I like to stay away from stores as much as I can. After Christmas, then I'll start really looking. I figure once it all dies down, they'll be clogging the shelves a-plenty, like you say. I just hope they don't keep doing this, because I have the most luck finding these at Target and my local grocery store.

Yup, the one on La Palma in Buena Park Mall. They had at least three Atoms, 2 Black Lightings, a butt load of Riddlers, 2 Eradicators, a couple Amazos as well. And that was just what was visible, since I had them didn't bother digging through them, but they had about 6 pegs worth hanging there. Good luck tomorrow, hope they're still there for ya tomorrow. I saw them at 10ish this morning and they looked fairly untouched. I might pick up another set tomorrow for trade as I'm continuing my quest for the the Marvel Legends Ares series. Happy Hunting, Toy peeps.

Just an update on the Ann Arbor/Ypsi situation: we have NOTHING.

 

Strangely, I did find a Human Torch from the Ronan the Accuser FF ML line at the Ypsi Walmart. Who knows what's going on now.

QC varies, Amazo & Eradicator are perfect (aside from a few paint spots) which is great cause those were my 2 biggest wants of the series.

Riddler has a stuck hip.

Black lighting has 1 stuck hip, 1 stuck thigh, and a stuck wrist.

Atom has two stuck hips.

And apparently metallo is powerless, cause theres no Kyrptonite chunk in his chest. He also has a stuck elbow.
