New Sonic Figures!

Well, I tried out Sonic Generations at Gamestop. It's pretty fun, though they just let you go through Green Hill. Only tried the side-scrolling version. It's nice, though the controls take a bit of getting used to. Sonic stops on a dime, but when you jump in the air and press any direction to the side, and he MOVES. It feels like he's sticking there, unless you're in the air. It's not bad, but still not like the controls from the originals.

I'll agree there! That was the first thing I noticed: MUCH better control than in Sonic 4.

 

Ya know...speaking of which: they haven't abandoned that, have they? I mean, it was far from perfect, but I enjoyed it. I was looking forward to further installments.

^.^ I took about 100 slow runs through the level to learn the layout. (Not quite that much, but a few). Plus I needed to get a feel for the camera and controls. So I did notice the differences XD. The funny thing is that I can shave another 10 seconds or more off of my best time XD. I don't like doing speedruns in games with the Spin Dash, it complicates things too much.

 

Episode 2 should be out next year. They're re-branding Sonic CD as a direct prequel to Sonic 4. (As well as Sonic 3 & Knuckles, but that's been established obviously) I think they may tweak the engine a lot for Episode 2. I think Episode 1 is underrated by the fans. It's really not as bad as they all say it is. "LOLOL IT HAS GREEN EYES AND HOMING ATTACK! BLASPHEMY!!!"

 

Have you seen the people freaking out about the homing attack upgrade in the 3DS version of Generations? It's an OPTIONAL upgrade and they're acting like the game is ruined because of it!

Huh? Sooo...Sonic CD now is the last in the original series (story wise), with Sonic 4 coming right after? Interesting. I mean, it's not like there has ever been anything in CD to show when it takes place, but I always thought it was between 1 and 2.

Thats good; I was hoping they would continue to improve. I haven't heard much of the complaints, 'cause this is pretty much the only place where I've ever conversed about Sonic besides with my friends here at home.

Yeah, I've heard some people going NUTS about things as random as the color of the soles of Sonic's shoes. People are ridiculous.

 

And yeah, it always annoyed me when Sega tried to appease people who hate on optional bonuses. And Sonic Colors using Sonic clones for multiplayer instead of his supporting cast (because some people don't like them). That's really dumb. It's been tradition since Sonic 2 for multiplayer to involve supporting characters from the series. People really have to get over their OCD hangups and just accept that these games are for everybody, not just their 5 year old early-1990s selves o_0

I see; so the events of CD will somehow tie into 4. Neat! I know they flashed Metal Sonic in the ending of Sonic 4, so I'm looking forward to what they're gona come up with.

Yeah, they'd be easy to lose...but I'd still want 'em. As it is (even thought they're slightly smaller than they are in the game) I'm using the Emeralds that came in the super pack as the Super Emeralds. Still looking for a damn green version of those big crystals they have a Michaels for a Master Emerald!

Still looking for a damn green version of those big crystals they have a Michaels for a Master Emerald!

 

I have pink, red, and white "Master Emerald" from there! I wanted the green version too, as well.

 

And yeah, I thought Perfect Chaos looked more odd, but still awesome =]

 

Also, my prediction of next trailer, I was right about "Modern Era", and "Sonic 2006", "Sonic Unleashed", and "Sonic Colors"... although I was really expecting Silver as end of trailer's boss, since Silver is more of modern boss, and Perfect Chaos is... mostly more of Dreamcast boss but okay. lol
