New Sonic Figures!

Really? When I saw that picture, I immediately thought of the Unleashed model (which isn't that bad, to be honest). To look like the older SA2 model, I think he'd have to have an orange mustache, and his mustache has to be a little more wild (similar to the Toy Island Eggman. This one's mustache seems a little more natural without those spiky edges)

I love Big as a character. He's hilarious. I also love how, despite the fact that people hate him, they still put him in the games. Here's something from a Wikipedia article that had me in stitches: "In a preview of Sonic and the Secret Rings, Nintendo Power praised the exclusion of Big from the game, referring to him as a "dim-witted, morbidly obese feline". However, Big later made his way into the game". That's just hilarious. He's like a big middle finger from SEGA and Sonic Team. XD Anyways... I'll have to agree with you that playing as him in Sonic Adventure was just poop. It was because of Big that I almost didn't fully complete the game back in the day, haha...

OH HECK YES. Eggman...and big...Im so excited. Eggy looks so great. Keep in mind that jazwares most likely has official renderings of everyone, so while eggman looks sorta like his sa2 appearance, its modeled after his most current design and rendering.

ANYWAYS Im so so so excited, Eggman being my fourth favorite character, personally I liked the fishing stages in Sonic adventure ok, it just wasnt sonic...at all...not even remotely. And I really like Bigs design. But thats just me. Fishing stages has no place in sonic adventure....but I really like Big.

Also, just a heads-up: According to Sonic Gear's recent blog post, the Sonic figures are now starting to pop up at Wal-Mart and Hot Topic. This is a MAJOR plus because I have a Super Wal-Mart right down the road from me.

C'mon Jazwares, bring 'em to Target... *crosses fingers*

Wal-Mart and... Hot Topic? O_o

That's great news! Also, I'm pretty sure they'll also show up at Target. Maybe even K-Mart.

Yup, and that's great because we go to Wal-Mart all the time. But this has to be really recent, because I went to both of those stores not too long ago, and nothing.

I went to TRU on Saturday to exchange my defective comic pack, but they were all gone. It wasn't a loss though, because I traded it for Super Poser Knuckles! I also got Sonic Classic Collection. Though not as great as they made it sound, it is a great game if you want classic Sonic on the go. But anyway, back on topic. The new comic packs were all gone, and I got the last Knuckles SP. There was one 3in Tails there, but I had to pass on it because he looked kind of beat up. They were also all out of the ASR figures, both 3in and Mini, except for one Amy racer. Guess I'll either have to find the figures at Wal-Mart tomorrow when I go, or TRU in a week or two, which I don't mind too much because it means the figures are selling.

*siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*

This all sounds so cool. My local TRU fails so hard at getting all of this. They've been hanging onto those Clear Sonic/Knuckles comic packs for months, Wave 2 NEVER appeared at all (I even made an excursion of checking all the TRU from NYC to Boston along i-95 on my way to a business trip in Boston. NOTHING), the ASR figures got a single release and haven't shown up again, and now the entire Sonic section has been reduced to a 5-inch Werehog -_-

I've been hanging on to 3-inch Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, all from the original releases (so still fall-over-Sonic and petrified tails Tails), awaiting the arrival of Shadow, Silver and 3-inch Werehog for almost 5 months. And now we have Amy, Eggman, Big and Metal Sonic coming my way. Been checking my local Wal-Mart, Target, FYE weekly. Still nothing. Doubt I'll see ANY of this stuff given the history.

What's going on here? Where do you guys live exactly? Cause I haven't been seeing any of this stuff around New York City (which has one of the biggest TRUs around). Anybody know where I can pick up the re-release of Wave 2? Cause I haven't seen hide nor psychic-hair of Silver and co and it's been about 4-5 months since they came out. Is the majority of the release focused in areas of the West Coast or something?

Also, about time I updated my list.

I too live in NYC and there's a TRU where I live that had almost everything. Last I went there, they had the rotating Tails without the base, they had 3 inch Shadow, Silver, and Werehog, and they at least had the ASR figures of the 3 inch Knuckles and Sonic. I haven't been to that TRU in about 10 days though so I'll go tomorrow and let you know what they got now.

Thanks,

Is this the TRU at Times Square? Cause last I checked they had next-to-nothing (Sonic and Knuckles Comic Pack and some old SPs)

Oh! A question: How is the sound? I've heard there is some slowdown, and I don't mind that, but if the sound isn't to the quality of at least the original genesis then I'm not sure I'm interested.

Honestly, I don't know why I'm considering this game. I have so many games that I still need to play that I don't really need a collection of the pack of games that I've beaten more times than any other game I've played, much less on the go. If I just keep playing Sonic over and over I'll never play anything new!

No I live in the NYC area but I don't live in Manhattan. It's just a local TRU near where I live. I went back there today as I said and they didn't have as much as they did before but they still do have some stuff that I think you're looking for. They have a few of the re-releases of Werehog, Tails (with the rotating tails), and Silver. All with the base and the pics of the figures in the back. Here's what I noticed though. I don't know if every re-release of Silver has this but I noticed all 3 of the Silver figures that were at the TRU I went to all had plain gray bottoms. No black lines or blue green hexagons. The shoe design was still there it was just all plain gray...I find that weird.

The gameplay is basically the same, but there are three immediate differences in the music:

1) When you get speed shoes, instead of the song speeding up, it gets higher pitched.

2) MJ's voice in the Sonic 3 Act 1 Boss theme sounds a little different

3) In Sonic & Knuckles, the Sonic 3 Act 1 boss music plays instead of the Sonic & Knuckles music, which I think is an improvement, even if unintentional.

All the Silvers I saw at TRU had this as well. I'm guessing they stopped painting the shoe bottoms.

Special version get?

Thanks! Sounds good and seems like I won't be losing out on anything. Heck, #3 is an improvement, like you said! I always loved the S3 midboss song, and the S&K one is kinda boring by comparison.

Guh! How strange! I looked it up on youtube to see what you're talking about; they changed Carnival Night and Ice Cap Zone's songs too! That's blasphemous to my religion!

Interesting, I live in Ontario Canada, and you'd think being so close to the U.S our selection of Sonic toys would be great right? wrong. Good luck trying to find ANYTHING, ANYWHERE, I traveled to 6 different toys r us locations across my entire region, from Toronto to Oshawa and nothing. I asked the clerks when they would expect the 3 inch shadow/silver/werehog to come in and they just gave me a blank look. I was pretty distraught since I thought I wouldn't be able to find them anywhere, and buying online is a joke since they overcharge way too much AND THEN there's the shipping and handling... I recently bought 2 sets of the metal sonic comic 2 pack off of ebay, that one hurt my pocket with a total of 61$, and that was with a 10$ discount... I think that's ridiculous for something that clearly retails (as seen in the picture posted by Cloverdox on page 109) for freakin' 12.99! :o. I also found a pretty good online store for some sonic stuff @ BigBadToyStore, as mentioned from Sonic Gear [http://www.bigbadtoy....aspx?menu=1620], they have the 10 inch metal sonic at a doable price along with the Metal Sonic JUVI and the other JUVI'S. They also have the ASR figures in a 3 set/mini set too.

And by ways of introduction my name is Jay, pardon my blaring rant of hatred at my toys r us sucking at stocking figures -.-

I forgot they changed those two as well. I bought the pc collection after my genesis stopped working, it was in early 2000. I remember being so upset about the changes. I'm just glad they didn't reuse that stuff for The Mega Collection.

Hey guys!

Sorry I have been away, I have been crazy busy on the A-Team!

Just to update Werehog has been fixed.

The one showing up now for sure.

Metal Sonic was pulled from the Comic Book pack for all future orders.

The later shipped Metal Sonics are all good, there were some issues with the first ones.

I ordered a bunch of loose ones from our factory as soon as we get them

we will replace the defective figures, I am so sorry!!!

Just contact our customer service people.

Tell them Joe sent you if you don't get a response ;)

Metal Sonic is being replaced by Amy so you know.

I'm going to try release product updates on a more regular bases.

No SDCC exclusive for Sonic, sorry. I really pushed for one.

Oh well, maybe we can all meet up at SDCC and talk Sonic?

Later,

Joe
