Who else is donating to Toys for Tots?

Found out about a contest to get people to donate here. Really, this is WIN-WIN for everybody-- sacrifice a little bit of your collecting budget to help inspire great childhood memories for somebody else, and clear-up the pegs and shelves for new product. I know for a fact in my town there are the "Haves", the "Have-nots", and "Have-Even-Lesses", and people always give less during an economic down-turn when both the poor and the economy need our dollars the most. Really guys, What Would Snake-Eyes Do? :)

Well, Snake-Eyes wouldn't SAY anything about this.......

But its a great idea to promote the hobby and the kinds of toys you love and share that love with kids less fortunate than ourselves.

GIJOE is about the heroic ideal as well, and nothing speaks more of quiet heroes than helping out folks in need of some help.

I always put a few pegwarmers in the Toys for Tots bin every year. Sadly, Hasbro's flooded my local market with refresh cases, so I don't have deep enough pockets to clear out all the pegwarmers, even at a single store.

I usually finish my shopping first and then I drop something in the box. I try not to put peg-warmers in though...I try to find something popular for the little ones!

The thing is, with pegwarmers it's often win-win for the kiddies. If it's those "core" characters that are sitting (Duke, Cobra Commander, Snake-Eyes, et al...) then you're potentially giving an underprivileged kid a great start. Maybe different with other lines, but well...yeah, I wouldn't be dropping Yara d'al Gargans (Jabba's fat dancer) into the Toys for Tots bin, no matter how hard she pegwarms. ;)

Hate to revive a dead thread, but yeah I hope you guys donate and please send me pics if you do so. (I run the blog mentioned in the thread).

I got a bunch of stuff to give myself, a few joes including the new Zartan and some other various stuff. My wife picked up a Barbie vespa scooter that she's jazzed about. We always split our Tot budget down the middle, since it's only fair to girls and kids that don't like Joes.

Edit: and if you live in Canada there's a loophole for you if you don't have a Toys for Tots in your area.
