Man ,That's Harsh......... Maybe the guys that buy them for 500% more are a few things you said , but scalper prices aren't alway that much..... now guys that buy things from scalpers at a 100% or less increase , then they might know what they are doing... one thing is that they might not have time to go hunting like several other collectors do , another, they may live somewhere where there's just toomany collectors , and can never find anything......... also they may live somewhere where there's nowhere to get the figures.....

 

 

i'm not saying I like scalpers , i'm just saying that there are sometimes when some guys don't have a choice... luckily I've never have to pay more then retail for a new toy .

The fun part is that I don't recall anyone on this board talking about paying scalper prices. I do, however, remember several people talking about selling figures and GETTING what amounted to scalper prices for them. But that isn't necessarily the seller's fault- are you supposed to stop people from bidding high?

 

So he's got this ridiculous copied-and-pasted thesaurus.com list of words (some of which are hilarious- I want to know what scalper thinks of their customers as a 'photosetting machine' or a 'vice-president') to address an issue that no one here seems to have an issue with.

 

Sorry Slim, but scalpers are not the downfall of GI Joe, Ebay, or modern society. I myself have shelled out for stuff before because I'd thought it would either be short-packed or otherwise unattainable to me, NOT to say I'm the 'first kid on the block' to have it, and only in a few cases have I been wrong, but I'm still batting about 95% or so, so I'm O.K. with it.

I hate scalpers just like the next guy, but calling "EVERYONE" that pays scalper prices dumb isn't right. Some people live in countries that don't get GI Joes, or get like 2 cases a year, so they have to do what they can, not to mention that sometimes with the exchange rate on their currency compared to the US dollar(especially nowadays) they're actually getting the figures for around the same they would pay in their own country...

 

Anyway, just wanted to chime in, and lock the thread. Mainly cause I can see it turning ugly(like it looks like it's turning @smilepunch@ ).. so move on, and have a good day.
