so there is a john conner figure coming. yes john conner and not john connor. thats how it is written on the package of the figure. john conner? conner? seriously. i saw a pic of him at fwoosh in the general discusions. so he has a helmet so you cant see bales face. not sure if you can take it off. it looks even more terrible then the others. also a pic of the t-cycles and they dont look like the movie versions either. i dont know what playmates is pulling but it seems that they dont have the right for actors likeness. i hope that these are prototypes but it doesnt look good.

Jeezus those 4 inch figures look ugly as #$##!!!....Why the hell would they give the license to Playmates in the first place???...They have no proven track record with actor-likeness action figures at all...I am so wishing that NECA or McFarlane got the license now...oh well..guess I'll start saving for the Hot Toys John Conner now....

OMG....How is it possible for the 6 inch to look even worse than the 4 inch???....However possible Playmates have achieved it....and that's quite an achievement...They look like action figures from 10 years ago!!...They actually look exactly like the Terminator 2 figures from 1991...lol

dose any one know what may be the price on this ? and i hope its not like 9.99,like the DBZ toys,

Most 4" figures seem to go for $7.99-$9.99 these days, so I'd imagine these'd be the same.

These sure ain't pretty, but I'm so gonna be army building the endos!

That's a nice price, I'm pleased about that.

I bought the 3.75" T-R.I.P.($6.99) and Hunter Killer w/T 700($22.99) today at TRU to test-out the line to see if I really wanted to start army-building these. The humans didn't look as bad as I had imagined, but I'm just concentrating on endoskeletons to terrorize my Joes. No pic.s at the moment, but here's my thoughts on T-RIP (haven't opened the HK yet):

For $7.99 I expect a bit better than this. These seem a bit like ChapMei with improved articulation (no offense to CM, as they make some interesting toys for bargain prices).

Sculpt: Actually pretty decent (compared to past offerings) for Playmates. There's alot of nice detail work on the endoskeleton and effective paint-wash on the monotoned silver armor. My only complaint here is that the face seems a bit elongated as the mouth is sculpted open and the arms are quite simian in appearance and come down to just above the knee as opposed to the wrist naturally being aligned with the hips. I'd say 7.5 out of 10.

Paint: Not much to say here as it's all silver with a black wash; all varied slightly, which is nice for army-builders. However, there seemed to be quite a bit of slop on the eyes so look-out for that. Eyes drop this to about 8 out of 10.

Articulation: This is the big topic for me personally, and also the most disappointing. I'll start with the positives and say that I really like the way the arms (though freakishly-long) are done. The shoulders and elbows are a hinge on a swivel-post that work very well (especially for a figure this thin) that allow the arms to move up/down and to the sides. Unfortunately there are no wrist/forearm swivel to allow for a greater variety of weapon holding. The legs are simply swivel-hips (very disappointing, as the card actually has ball-joints that would have been fairly easy to duplicate) and hinge-knees. Despite the hips, he's pretty well balanced considering that he literally has ballpoints for heels...in the static upright position. Any other positions would require hand or stand (not included). And lastly, probably the biggest fail of all for this figure is no neck or waist articulation...WTF!?! That's right, regardless of the cool poses you'll get his arms in, he will always be looking straight ahead. I realize that with all of the pistons 'n such attached at these points that swivels would be nearly impossible (aesthetically), but I really feel that this figure would have shined with some ball-joints for the head and abdomen if done correctly. Shame on you Playmates; you took a decently-passable figure and made it sub-par. I'd generously give it 6 out of 10 (but would almost subtract 4 more points for the neck insult if it weren't for the arms).

Accessories: He comes with a Topps trading card (that will just p' you off when you see that he could have had ball-hips...if another company had done these! Not to mention that another licensing fee usually affects the figure-budget and price...see TB SHShowdown) and two guns that look good but fit a bit wonky in his hands. His fingers are thin enough that you could probably boil them and reposition as you like. A stand (with some skulls n' such) would have been appreciated (and in T-bone's case, necessary). 5 out of 10.

Packaging: Nice and effective, but nothing outstanding. Playmates attempts to copy Hasbro's taped-flap blister cards, but I'd have preferred that they copy other atributes. Beware of dreaded twist-ties (6)...even the guns have them! 6 out of 10.

Overall, he's a nice looking figure that will frustrate you when you think of what he could have been if handled correctly. Pretty solid and sturdy figure for the kids to bang around, but a few levels lower than an adult collector's expectations. Recommended, but with a strong disclaimer. As much as I've griped about MU and DCIH prices, these almost make me appreciate their short-comings now. These are $4-6 figures...tops. Perhaps in the eventual event of clearance sales, I might reconsider army-building.

Yeah, I got a T-Rip to see how they look w/ the Joes, I'm kinda dissappointed....I'd take a picture but I'm entirely too lazy, but lets just say they look too short next to any Joes...I'll keep this one for the nostalgia factor, maybe pick up some of the robots (bigger) to terrorize the Joes, but other than that, meh.

MY TRU put these figs out today. The endoskeletons are the only thing worth getting IMO. The 6 inch figs take me back to the 90s articulation (and Johns helmet is molded on his head it looks awful) with only the endos and the T-1 being worth anything. The flying thing looked smooth but I'll either wait to get it at Walmart for 19.99 or wait till Target puts it on clearance in 2 months. 10 inch figs are a joke and make Hasbro's 12 inch Joes look like Sideshows. I picked up Barnes (Common) and a T-RIP in the 3.75 scale. I toyed with getting John but he has a hanckerchief over his face and I didn't know if it was removable. I'll give these toys a D- as I firmly believe other companies would have done a MUCH better job. I also saw the Star Trek toys (also made by Playmates) and was sooooo glad I'm not a Star Trek fan. I'll be placing my order for a Hot Toys John Conner now......

Basically endo army builder will be happy......the human resistance side not so much. If I can take a pic I will.

I found the Termination Salvation 6" and 3.75" figures at a ToysRUs in College Station, Texas today. I got 1 of each Terminator model from the 6" and 3.75" scale. There were no vehicles.

I picked up the HK. My TRU hadn't put out any of the 3.75 figs only the 6" and they look really bad. The HK is fun though. I've wanted one ever since 1984 and this fits the bill pretty nicely even if it is actually fairly different from the original movie HKs.

Most notable, the original HKs were a bit sleeker and their tails sloped up in a V-shape whereas this version has more of a swallow-tail. The front end is also shaped differently.

K-Marts have started putting these out in Alabama. I noticed them last Wednesday. The HK is well worth it. I've always wanted one, too, and the bottom opens up to hold the Endoskeleton like a pilot. I just wish the HK came with a silver Endoskeleton, and that the Endoskeletons came with the plasma rifles from T2, and not these weak pistols they've come up with. The humans are kinda weak, as is the masked John Connor, and I would prefer Common without the goggles. I don't know if they don't have the rights to their likenesses or what. I really want the A-10 Warthog. I also got at T1 and Endoskeleton from the 6" line. The T1 is cool, the Endoskeleton is OK. As weak as the 3.75" humans are, they are still better sculpted than the new Star Trek figs Playmates is also doing. Star Trek has the superior articulation, and accessories. I got the two playsets at a TRU this weekend and they are OK, but the Kirk figure especially is weak. I hope Playmates picks up the pace.

K-Mart also surprised me with their prices - they were actually normal MSRP for once! $6.99 for 3.75 figures, $9.99 for 6" figs, and $19.99 for vehicles. About time they got with the program. That's exactly what these guys are worth. They are still better sculpted than the DC Infinite Heroes, but way inferior to any of Hasbro's stuff.

I have started army building T-R.I.Ps and HKs. Can't wait to customize one to hold Heavy Duty's chain gun.

What the hell is wrong in my neck of the woods. I live in Phoenix and neither Toys' R Us, Wal*Mart or K-Mart have stocked these damn figures yet! I worry because it's a hit or miss scenario with collecting. I do believe that there will be a lot of the new Terminator Salvation figures released eventually, but I won't be able to find the endoskeletons because that is what everyone else is after.
