Lucas Thinking about a 5th Indiana Jones movie

Concerning all of these older action stars we see "coming out of retirement" so to speak to revisit and reinvigorate older franchises, i.e. Stallone in Rambo, Schwarzenegger in T3, Willis is Live Free or Die Hard, etc., I personally love seeing it happen. It's a wonderful phenomenon in my opinion, to see these rugged older guys that still have a little fight left in 'em coming back for more. Maybe part of it for me is obviously pure nostalgia, plain and simple, but another part of it is also the fact that I feel like I increasingly understand the part about getting older, being old enough to see times (and your physicality) change, yet you feel like you still have something to offer and that you're still vital, able, and relevant after all this time. The weathered, time-tested hero is just something I'm really fascinated with, these guys that have a real history and they can still kick @$$. I love it.

So along those lines, after seeing Ford successfully do the same thing with Indy 4 as these other guys have with their respective franchises, yeah...I'd be all for a new Indy movie, no question.

All I could think about when I saw this headline was the last South Park... where Lucas and Speilberg rape Indiana Jones. And a Stormtrooper.

That will be enough of that. @pow@ @smilepunch@ @lol@

I'm not all that familiar with the Young Indy TV series, but has he ever looked for Excalibur? I think Lucas could hit a home-run with Indiana Jones and the Quest for Excalibur. I think it would fit the style that most of us perceive Indy to be a part of. Not to mention we all know the Arthur Legend.

That's 4000 posts for you, Capt!!!!

Would the Russians be after this as well? I'd like to see it if the power of Excaliber is embellished like they did with the Holy Grail.

Thanks hogan. :) I didn't even realize it until you pointed it out. I guess that's a good enough excuse to party! @bananna@ #GvE# #party#

They could use the Russians again, although I think it would work better if they had a powerful independent like Beloq was in Raiders, or Donovan was in TLC (even thought they both teamed up with the Nazis).

  • 3 weeks later...

indiana jones and the search for baby RAMBO!

okok it was a terrible idea but i agree with the new movies from old heros. all these new heros are not doing good.. hollywood had to bring back the 80s for some ass kicking knights of old! so yes i would like another indy! and another rambo! die hard! escape from somewhere! terminator cant really work well cause arny was a robot no matter how you do it robots dont get older! but we could always go with ANOTHER PREDATOR!

The 4th Indy Film to me was excellent, all the classic elements of an Indy film were there. I don't see what th problem was. It was no more farfetched than any of the others

I have three words that put the lie to that:

Nuclear Bomb

Refrigerator

How is that anymore far fetched than the Nazis having a flying wing and MP40s in 1936? (which wouldn't exist then) or the raft parachute from temple? or the river of petroleum in LC? or anything else from the first 3 films?

The popcorn fever has worn off for me so I don't like it nearly as much. It's not about being farfetched.. aliens are less farfetched than god-type things (although the reverse perception always seems to be there for everyone else)..

it just wasn't a good story.. wasn't very fun. The places they went were boring.. and pulling stones out of a large thing wasn't exciting or a booby trap
