Would you open a vintage card just to open it?

I have a Droids Thall Joben figure that I've had for years. I don't even remember what I paid for it (it was about 8-10 years ago). I always intended to find a loose one and then trade/sell this one off, but never got around to it. the bubble has really browned over the years but everything else about the card is spot on, as it were. I really think I'm just going to open it and be happy, but it will definitely take a vintage carded out of circulation. I don't know why that would particularly bother me, but it honestly kinda does.

What would y'all do in my shoes?

trade it away for a complete loose one if you plan on opening it. You may be able to get something else int he deal too.

Yeah, and if you can't find someone that will do a fair trade try putting it on ebay with a starting bid at a price that would buy you a loose one. The worst that could happen is that it doesn't sell. Well... I guess the person could be a non-payer. But I guess either is worth trying.

Gosh...as anal-retentive/obsessive-compulsive as I am, I'd have a hard time with that decision. I can totally appreciate keeping a figure like that mint on the card, but...I can't hardly stand keeping a figure sealed in a yellowing bubble like that. If the plastic bubble is turning yellow, what's it doing to the color of the figure on the inside? That's what I'd consider. I'd rather have a mint/loose specimen than risk having the packaging damage it. But I don't know; does a yellowing bubble discolor the figure on the inside?

Yup I say give it to pogo where it will stay nice and safe :D sealed vintage figures are not going to get any more of any time soon so may as well see it winds up in the hands of someone who will appreciate it for what it is :)
