he is bad ass ... I'm rather disappointed though this is a out right reissue ... they can't really expect anyone who has one already to want to pick it up again so I hope its rather limited and does not wind up being a peg warmer :S

Like Powerglide would it have killed Hasbro to paint him in G1 colors?

 

Maybe they would sell more if they had done it when it was rereleased the first time

oohhh I had almost forgotten all about him and engeron even though it had its .. ahem ... kicks now and then it was really quite pointless all in all still we got armada out of it which was not bad ... or was that first?.. @hmmm@ and then the great cybertron series

I was lucky enough to get that two pack with prime and kicker some how... I'd aim for that and then you at least get a prime figure out of it too you really can't like ... find one on ebay or some such?..

i wont be getting this, i already have the first one and the black one, and the only reason i have the black one is cause i found it for $20!! in some places thats what the first one was down to, cause nobody wanted it then, and i don't think anyone will want it now!!

 

how did so many people miss this the first time around??

I was lucky to be able to pick up the Highwire and Kicker Energon 2 pack toward the end of Energon with Roadblock and the combiner limbs.

Its a straight reissue, TRU exclusive....meh, you can pick an Armada Unicron up on ebay for cheaper than what TRU will and I mean guaranteed will sell this for. You just know that when its released it'll be in the $70-80 region

I kinda hate the high-falutin' bio they have written on the back of his box which seems to incorporate the stories that Furman wrote about him in G1, Armada, and Universe. As much as I liked reading the Marvel Unicron Saga as a kid I'm starting to wish that Unicron was still just a hare-brained scheme cooked up by a mad scientist who was ultimately defeated... by Season 3 Comic-Relief Grimlock!

I always thought of Unicron as a powerful being that called apon Primacron to help him turn his prison into his body. That effectively combines the G1 cartoon with the comic.

 

I also combine the origins of the TFs as well. After locking away the Fallen, the original 13 were enslaved by the Quintessons who mass produced their designs.

Yeah, I like Unicron as just a big robot-- the very pinancle of science and technology gone bad. He can be used to represent Evil in the abstract metaphorically and definitely has satanic traits, but he's not Satan. Really, before Furman basically ripped off Zoroastrianism, Unicron was still essentially a big robot. I would have prefered that he stayed in the realm of science fiction, which can provide thoughtful and respectful commentary on religion, rather than have toy people play theologian. Even Beast Machines got that much right!

I personally do not care what color scheme he is. I used my Armada version for a custom Megatron. I no longer have that fun custom, however I would like one more crack at buying Unicron and keeping him for my permanent collection.

The Quints were still a big part in Transformers lore so it would only make sense to include them someway. I just don't buy the whole Quints ARE the creators of the TFs. In Five Faces of Darkness part 4 it merely shows the Quints already in charge and the TFs rebelled. I beleive there were TFs before the Quints arrived.
