my walmarts ticking me off!!!

I go to walmart yesterday looking for bats and snowserpents. From far away it looks like their are two full pegs of gi joes! Awesome! i can't wait! but as i draw nearer i see that my walmart yet again put out wave 7 (the one with jet pack duke and the vipers is that wave 7?) to fill the pegs up! there were still wave 9 figures, (the ones that were there last week. i know because a lot of them had really badly bent up cards. it would have made some of you moc collectors cry how bad they were bent) but i was saving money up for snow serpents and bats figuring i can get the joes i want later on.

is anyone elses walmart doing this? i mean if they were the supposed reissue of the first few waves we're supposed to get i wouldn't have cared as i actually want figures from that, flint, stalker, lady jay and rock & roll to name a few.. but come on! its really starting to annoy me!

Keep in mind that waves 7 and 8 more or less shipped concurrently and wave 9 started hitting just a few weeks after. It is more than likely the same situation Star Wars finds itself in:

Because retailers don't FIFO (First in, first out) on most toylines, cases of wave 7 got pushed behind stocks of 8 and eventually 9. Well, they've sold through the newer stuff so they are digging into the warehouses to dig out cases of wave 7.

Last year, my local walmart got 5 cases of wave 4 Star Wars just a couple weeks after getting a couple cases of wave 5. And last June, they got a case of Transformers Robot Heroes wave 1 2007 (ie, the ones that hit with the release of Transformers movie toys LAST YEAR).

It happens all the time with toys, and to think, 3 months ago people were complaining about not finding enough wave 7 :P

There is only one Walmart in my area and it's about 45 mins from my place on any given day... I have to go soon and check it out...

I have been settling with TRU and Targets which only have the comic packs!

My Wally doesn't do that, but my local TRU has been puting out only Wave 7 about every week since it first came out. No wave 8, no wave 9, just wave 7 over and over and over. It gets annoying when you can't find the new figures. Don't get me wrong, its nice to know you can catch up on the older figures you missed, but after 4 stockings, enough is enough, especially with so much new product coming.

That or make more space for each new wave.

I got off early the other day and lucked out and got to a Target in time to pick up 4 B.A.T.s and 4 Snow Serpents.

I went to visit someone in another city and managed to find 2 more Snow Serpents. I diidn't pick them up (going through some "difficulties" right now), but yeah, those two are pretty scarce.

I don'

FIFO isn't it at all with Joes. one, when they come in, they go out. Joe pegs aren't full enough to keep stock in the back waiting for room to clear. two, FIFO doesn't account for all the reports of stores that had empty pegs for weeks, and then put out wave 7. if they were waiting, what for? fact is, Wal Mart, and Target, have been receiving wave 7 again. for what reason, who knows. but they aren't old product sitting in the back.

but, it is downright ludicrous to be angry at Wal Mart. they are only putting out what they receive. it isn't as if they are purposely ordering wave 7 instead of newer waves. they are ordering figures, and they get what they get.

I do feel your pain Phoenix Sword. I checked FOUR walmarts in the past 2 days. It looks like each one has received the SnowSerpent/BATS wave, yet there are NONE there! It hasnt been more than 2 weeks since I've checked these, but they are wiped clean of BATS and Snow Serpents.

The last one I checked had a TON of figures--4 pegs FULL, and I saw Bazooka in there when I walked up, figuring I had finally hit a break. But no. Not a single SS or BAT.

My only break was at the first WM, I happened by the buggy in the bikes section with some returns in it. The first figure I saw was Bazooka, but next to him was a Snow Serpent! There was also a HISS driver (reissue I think), but I was happy to finally get a SS. So dont forget to check those areas too!

I have about Six Wal-marts and three targets in the immediate area and it is hit or miss. I have discovered that their delivery day for toys is on wednesday and thursdays. So, i try to swing by a few then. If i have time and money and I venture to the five TRU's in the area. that reminds me I need to find a ROCC.
