Anyone else think they should've went with cloth capes instead of plastic? It would give it that Super Powers look and feel even moreso. If there was a cloth cape, Robin's head would move easier. I guess that's a suggestion, make yourself a cloth cape for him.

I wish they were still making the capes like the first 6" Batman line. Rubber over the neck & shoulders with the rest of the cape being cloth.

I'm finally gonna get Green Lantern, Robin, and Nightwing. No where around here has anything of DCUC. Went to ebay and found all 3 for $13. I think I got a good deal. With gas the way it is it was a whole lot cheaper than hunting. Especially since we have a hurricane coming and gas prices went up.

frankly I can't see why they can't get us a regular looking batman and superman with cloth capes at least ONCE since odds are they will get put out more than once... If anything I'd be all up for that being a future SDCC exclusive :) Something nice yet nothing anyone will really cry too much over

As someone who opens and just poses them on a shelf; I personally like the rubber capes way more. For me this was one of the greatest innovations to come to action figures. It makes them look more as if they just stepped out of a comic or cartoon.

For those that play with the figures I can understand the lack of playability with a rubber cape, however I hope they never go back.

yikes... cloth capes??? HECK NO.. they look funky on 6 inchers. The rubber capes are definitely better, although I havent felt how flexible the DCUC capes are yet... Toybiz's were great.

that half rubber/half cloth type is the absolute worst

This is Mustard using my brother's username. I don't feel like signing out. Anyway, the reason I think cloth capes would be better is because we all love the articulation of these figures but it makes it hard to pose them on bended knees with a plastic cape in the way.

I'd like to see more cloth capes in use. The plastic capes look nicer on the shelves, but cloth capes improve articulation and help the figure balance better because they don't weigh as much as the plastic ones. I can tolerate plastic capes on 6" figures but cloth capes are a must on 12" figures.

Same thoughts. I personally prefer cloth capes over rubber capes. I wish they would go back to the design they used for the Batman line as mentioned above.

It would be cool if they did that as a variant or something. I always thought that the hybrid cape on Zip-line Batman was pretty clever, even if it didn't impress the diehard molded-cape crowd. I personally like 'soft-goods' capes and cloaks on my figures because it makes me think "Kenner"; while to a toy-collecting buddy of mine, they make him think "doll". :(

Nice to see more cloth cape fans. Another cool idea is they could include a comic with an origin story, nothing too fancy, again, to connect these to the Super Powers line. I mean, these are comic book characters.

Capt, are you reading the Star Trek comics from IDW? I love the OS Year Fours so far. The rest are good, too.

alls I know is I Had no problems with my cloth cape figures as a kid & would most likely have ripped off any plastic capes to get the figures in the cars and what not that they came with :P

Super Powers had some great **** in it too :)

i went to target before work (since my toysrus computer doesn't show any in the warehouse, and none arrived there since may), i lucked out. saw the entire set, with sinestro and deathstroke variants. so i grabbed the 2 variants, since my case is coming in tomorrow from cornerstore comics

Ask Mattel > September 1 Edition

mattel_logo-150x150.jpg

Man, I’m makin’ up for lost time today! Here’s the latest round of Q&A with Scott Neitlich, a.k.a. Mattel’s “ToyGuru.”

POE: I’m sure you’re going to get asked this more than once, but why is Sinestro so short compared to Hal? Was this by design, or was there an error in the production process? In the comics, Sinestro is said to be 6′ 7″–five inches taller than Hal.

SCOTT NEITLICH: Sinestro is the correct height and size as approved by DC comics. Keep in mind that over the many years different artists have interpreted DC characters very different. (just look at Solomon Grundy). The DCUC line is Mattel and the Four Horsemen’s interpretation of the characters.
