I'm pretty disappointed in this. Why couldn't they do Leatherneck in his classic colors?

I was looking forward to adding Leatherneck to my collection when I heard he'd be coming out with the AWE Striker, but now this looks to be a pass.

I know for cost-cutting measures "vehicle drivers" are pretty watered down, but some choices on this prototype makes no sense:

1. Mission to Brazil outfit - I get it, can't resell the same green AWE Striker, so we get a tan version and therefore a tan Leatherneck - I was hoping for his original colours

2. Ugh - Buzzer's Torso??? AND they kept the metal plate on his left shoulder? Try explaining that to the USMC

3. Snow Job's legs work well with Wild Weasle and not-so-well with Leatherneck. Really they could have use any of the (made) original 13s' legs instead.

Like the AWE Striker...looks really cool in that color scheme. Leatherneck is a big disappointment though. Stupid DUKE arms will never go away will they? @grumpy@

To be fair, they're still trying to explain Sneak Peek.

"Well, I..uh, I HIDE in the bushes, ummm OUTSIDE of the Baroness' window, errr..at NIGHT

and I ummm, sneak a PEEK at her, in her, uhhhh, BLACK teddies and then I ummm, errrr...

I'M SNEAK PEEK DAMNIT!!

LOL!

I love how Sneak Peek makes perfect sense for a modern anti-terrorist unit (spotter, observer, recording incriminating info with high powered lens equipment ect) but he gets the least respect of all the Joes. Poor guy!

Not only that, but with the exception of Leatherneck, most of the Joe's Marines are a bit unusual for the branch. Gung Ho? Come on. Open shirt with a big ol' mustache? Drill Sgt Hartman would never let that fly in his beloved Corps. ; D

And let's not mention the MEGA MARINES.

Dang! They're really getting a lot of use out f that Gung-Ho head.

Starfinger was going to play that Gung-Ho and Cutter were secret brothers, but three brothers in Joe is stretching it.

Evilstar is back yall!

Generally I'd have to say I'm ok with reuse of body parts as long as it fits, but I"m really never ok with reusing the heads. All this figure says to me is hey look Gungho going as leatherneck for this halloween kids....

Well... I'm want an AWE Striker so I'll probably get it. I grew up in an Army environment and never had a Gung Ho or a Leatherneck as a kid... so the figure doesn't bother me all that much. The shoulder pad thingy looks kinda dumb. I imagine that I'll be breaking that off.

yeah i want some more awe strikers too since Target is a pos around here doesn't put enough joes out.

and again...we shouldn't have to break things off or add things to brand new figures just so they don't look completely like a flaming bag of dog poo

Ya know, I was just thinking, Hasbro could easily make the rest of the entire '86 lineup if they keep this up. No need for new molds or even part swapping! They could just repaint existing figures and call them one of the figures from '86!

Repainted Breaker = Dial-Tone

Repainted Gung-Ho (minus vest and hat, and a new cloth cape) = Dr. Mindbender

Repainted head on Snow-Job = Iceberg

Repainted Doc = Lifeline

Repainted Snow-Job (with comic-pack Firefly goggles) = Low-Light

Repainted Breaker again = Mainframe

Repainted Ripper = Monkeywrench

Repainted Flash = Sci-Fi

Repainted Torpedo = Wet Suit

Repainted Xamot = Zandar

Repainted DVD pack Lady Jaye = Zarana

Hasbro would make tons of money, with no effort, and we'd all be happy. Right? RIGHT?

Exactly! I don't know why they added that to Buzzer in the first place.

Could a mod please delete this post... Wouldn't want hasbro to get any ideas... They might take this post seriously!
