Vince McMahon Hard on Michael Cole, Jonathan Coachman Update!

Recommended Posts

Vince McMahon was said to be hard on Michael Cole through the headset last week on Raw. It continued into the backstage area as well. One could probably presume that this will continue in the foreseeable future as McMahon tries to groom Cole into the next "voice of Raw".

Jonathan Coachman hasn't been at tapings in a while and ProWrestling.net reports that it's expected he is simply waiting for his contract to expire. Maternity leave is still the simple reason he could be taking time off given the fact that his wife recently gave birth to their first child, but there's still speculation as to his potential future position with ESPN being the primary reason for his absence.

Am I a little boy for laughing when I read that headline? "Vince McMahon hard on Michael Cole." LOL! I mght be immature or it might just be the five shots of Jack before 5PM running through my veins (the Jake Roberts / Scott Hall diet).

Not sure why Vince would want to build in failure on his flagship brand. If he wants Michael Cole to be the future voice of RAW, then berating him in an ear-piece while on live TV isn't exactly encouraging for his morale.

Personally I find Cole refreshing to listen to than good old boy Jim Ross who's time has passed. I did pick up on the mistake he made when he told viewers to look at the right of the screen for the instant replay and it was in fact to the left of the screen - to which Jerry corrected him on-air with a snyed underbreath comment at the end of that piece.

If they don't believe in Cole, then get rid of him, groom another announcer - but to treat the man like that while he's trying to do his job on the fly is building in failure.

I don't mind listening to Cole either. I'd rather have JR, but Cole is fine.
