G1 Episode Review of the Week

Rodimus Primal

Recommended Posts

This weeks episode is the Immobilizer, which introduces a new character to the TF universe, Carly. Wheeljack creates an invention that deactivates whatever it blasts. Obviously the Decepticons want it to use against the Autobots. Ironhide thinks that he's faulty at what he does and blams himself for the problems of the episode.

Carly is obviously older than Spike as she's old enough to drive, is smart, and is very brave. Other than it being an introduction of a character this episode didn't fail to deliver a story that was rather good. It's a good thing that whenever a plot device is used that it isn't used again in G1 as some of these items are really dangerous. It was cool to see Skyfire again as well, if only for a moment. This also has Chip replaced by Carly.

Notable errors include Bumblebee being present while Prime orders everyone to leave when he had alreay left with Spike to go look for Carly. It's also interesting to note that Carly was really good at remembering every Autobot's name at the end of the episode.

I like this episode, I liked Carly, finally a girl!! :) But I did like Chip, poor fellow.

At one point, Carly & Spike stuffed into Bumblebee's front seat, and he said SOMETHING, but his mouth never moved. Thought that was funny! lol

I felt bad for Ironhide in this one, thinking he's too old, but it would have been sad to see him go. I loved his character and voice! :D

Maybe, who knows? I don't think they had plans yet for the movie, did they? I'm not sure where this episode was in the bulk of them and w/ the movie... ??
