MP Megatron

Ok i just got MP Megatron and i was really excited. So i get him out of the box and what a mess. Loose legs, a torso that doesn't stay in well enough and what a total ass to stand up. If i pose him with his right arm down with scope attached the fig just crumbles under it's own weight. Metal legs would've solved this.

 

Please tell me i just got a bad one here, cause if all are like this it's a scandal.

still have not fully transformed him into gun mode my self though I have not really given it another shot... I'm quite POED at the sucker as well though not for you're reasons :S

i cant get him back to gun mode either, but i like the fig. make sure that all the parts match up perfect, you have to remember that japanese figs are mostly ment to be displayed and not played with. i think that the only reason they articulate their figs is so you dont get stuck with the same pose, but i like them. the heaviness of the scope is just a part of life, im sorry....we all(MP owners) have to deal with it.

mines been sitting in a lump on a desk half transformed...I got the top gun part all set up but I can't seem to figure out the legs... I can get them forming the handle /trigger but can't get it to connect to any part I'm really stumped ....

I've heard of way too many of them breaking to even attempt to transform him! He's way to expensive to have him break on me. He's on display and nothing more!

I haven't dared tried to transform it to gun mode. It is what it is, i'm sure the engineers did the best they could on this figure. MP Prime is the greatest MP that they'll ever make.

Yup... Watched the transformation on youtube... and didnt bother attempting to transform him myself... Regardless of the flaws... He is still one of my top 5...

I like him because for a glorified G1 Megatron, he's exactly what he's suppose to be, a Walther P-38 that transforms. I agree the feet should have been thought out better, because if he leans forward too much, he falls. That and he is too fragile, but I never transform him. I have the Megatron pistol that MP came with, and that's perfect for me.

i have transformered mine right out of the box, just play with it. i also removed the orange tip EASILY where everyone else cant ( BBTS) i love this fig! looks great with ss and skywarp gaurding him

Mine never had the orange tip.... Really I'm sure I just need to sit down with it again & work on it some more to get it... Man I had such trouble with my megs shoulders though... had to pull for half an hour on each one christ!

Biggest problem on mine is the hip connector, it just doesn't stay in there well enough. The leg thing is in the thigh connector, when i pick Megs up his legs just flop inwards like a rag doll. If i don't pose him right they will flop also thus he falls over.

Bought mine in Tokyo, have never transformed it, it scares the crap out of me

So....the thighs are also loose on yours? I.e. that they keep flopping inwards.

I haven't opened him yet. I just don't have anywhere to put him (not that I'm all cluttered with toys - I'm living with my gf, so...). When I do I just won't transform him. I've heard too many bad things...

If you handle a figure like this with extreme care then nothing should break.

 

Of course there are exceptions but factory errors are a part of life and are usually random. (though not always)

 

I transformed my Megs into gun mode quite some time ago and haven't tried putting him back to bot mode since. I know it took quite a bit of patient tinkering to get him right, but being patient is the key.

 

The problems I often experience are due to me not wanting to put too much pressure on parts that I'm not sure if they're supposed to move a certain way or not. Often times it's simply a matter of figuring out that those parts are a bit tight and need that little bit of force to get it.

 

Still, a bit frustration can set in. That's when it's time to put it down for a little bit and pick it back up in a little while.

 

I think once you've managed to transform him back and forth a few times that he'll be no big deal.

yeah, youre right. plus we have to remember that it is an adult toy.

I'm never ever gonna transform him. I tried it and his shoulders and neckpost are tight as hell. If i pull those down like they are supposed to for the transformation, i'm sure they will break on me. But anyway, i still don't have an answer to my initial question. I REALLY want to know if i got a "broken" figure here. Torso connector pops out too easily and the thigh joints in the crotch area (not the actual thigh swivel btw) are loose and you get that upwards/downward motion when you press him down on pick him up. When you do pick him up his legs flop inwards. Makes his legs feel really flimsy as if i am handling a knockoff.

Well, like I said, I only transformed mine into gun mode and I really don't remember any specific problems with any of the parts.

 

You'll have to find someone who has taken the time to master the transformation. I think most of us here tend to transform theirs as little as possible from what I can see. I'll probably put mine back in bot mode soon, but not until I get my new display area set up which may be a little while yet...not too long though.

well i just ordered mine with the upgrade parts, i hear those help because they replace a plastic part on the legs with metal so it makes him sturdier, i have yet to have any problems transforming any transformer i've gotten, none are broken either, that includes them 'stang alts (wimho) are some of the most complicated, so i'll let ya'll know in about a wk, getting it shipped straight to me in iraq for 163, so i think i paid a good price too

Its an unofficial product... But made by Just Toys... I trust their quality even though I didnt bother spending around 50.00 for this set... Same people that made MP Prime trailer before Takara released one... and WST Dinos...

Mine stands straight up and doesn't lean forward but I can NEVER touch him....The secret?? Those little clear rubber band thingys that comeon all our toys.....
