There was shock and disbelief in the WWE locker room last night when word of Jeff Hardy's impending suspension made the rounds. Hardy is pretty well liked backstage, but there was a lot of disappointment after the news broke which lead to several guys asking out loud "Can you believe what an idiot he is?"

Even guys in the company who have used substances in the past have realized that the rules have changed in WWE and you can't do things anymore that you might have gotten away with back in the day.

The reaction regarding Jeff Hardy's 60-day suspension is pretty much unanimous among a number of his current and former co-workers. Hardly any of them have much sympathy for Hardy in his current situation.

The general consensus among them believe that he's an "idiot" for blowing a golden opportunity with the company. One former co-worker of Hardy summed things up by saying, "He doesn't take anything seriously and doesn't seem to care that he is his own worse enemy. He thinks rules don't apply to him and lives in a completely different world than the rest of us. If he hasn't gotten the message by now, he never will." As noted earlier, Hardy has been removed from Wrestlemania as he will not be participating in the Money In The Bank match at the show.

Furthermore, one more violation of WWE's Wellness policy will result in Hardy being let go.

Whats sad is that he probably blew his only chance to become WWE Champion. But here's a timeline of Hardy's troubles and dropping the ball.

(WWE 2002-2003)

After years in the tag team division, Hardy took on The Undertaker in a Ladder match for the Undisputed Championship. Hardy came up short, but earned the Undertaker's respect. This was Hardy's first major push for a WWE Title.

Hardy was released from WWE on April 22, 2003. The reasons given for the release were Hardy's erratic behavior, drug use, refusal to go to rehab, deteriorating ring performance, as well as constant tardiness and no-showing events. Hardy also cites "burn out" and the need for time off as reasons for leaving WWE.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2004-2006)

Hardy was suspended from TNA after no-showing his "Clockwork Orange House of Fun" rematch with Raven at Hard Justice on May 15, allegedly due to travel difficulties.

Hardy was scheduled to wrestle on the pre-show of Turning Point in December 2005, but once again no-showed the event, again citing traveling problems. Hardy was suspended as a result and did not appear on TNA television again.

World Wrestling Entertainment (2006-present)

Hardy was abruptly taken off WWE programming. Hardy posted on his own website and in the forums of TheHardyShow.com that it was time off to heal, stemming from a bad fall taken in a match against Mr. Kennedy on the July 23 edition of RAW. He no showed the next night on RAW without telling anyone.

On the February 18 edition of RAW, Hardy defeated Snitsky and qualified to compete at the twenty-fourth annual WrestleMania event in the fourth annual Money in the Bank ladder match. However, he wouldn't get a chance to challenge for the belt again, as on March 11, Jeff was suspended for sixty days following his second violation of the company's Wellness Policy. Hardy was also removed from the fourth annual Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania XXIV after the suspension was announced.
