Did you want to rip someone's head off? (Keeping the head is optional, of course)

Did you feel what the movie was wanting you to start a revolution?

Did it make you want to through a toga party?

This movie inspired me to live life with a happy face, after I rip someone's head off. @smilepunch@

I love action drama, and I just feel that this is as real as it really gets without being there. Ya, it's an animated version of "real" events, but animated drama really tells this old story well.

What did this movie do for you, besides take your money?

It got me interested in those times... I already thought they were fascinating, but seeing this, if they were anything even REMOTELY like that... AWESOME!!!!

The movie got me SO pumped! lol :D I just actually bought it not too long ago. I can't wait to watch it again!!! ^_^

  • 3 weeks later...
I just thought it was good didnt make me wanna do anything.

I agree.

When I went to see 300 I knew what I was going into see. I had read that there was a lot of CGI involved so when the movie began I just couldn't but feel as if I was watching a cartoon.

For me I think CGI is being a little overused these days. Films are beginning to look very unauthentic. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it, however its just not the same as watching some of the epic films from 30-40 years ago.

I had a conversation about this with a fellow co-worker who worked as both a writer and art director in the film business nearly 35 years ago and he told me he has the same problem. He can't enjoy films these days because they just look so over-done with Special effects.

Sorry I guess I grew watching films like Kubrick's 2001 and I am old... lol

I don't know, maybe it was knowing too much about the actual history of the 300 I found that the movie was somehow lacking.

Now I know it was only loosely based on the true events, but I just think the true story is WAY more interesting.

I'd much rather see a grand scale movie made based on the actual events done by someone who will actually do the history justice. Not like Alexander or Troy, where it was more or less a good excuse to parade Hollywood's pretty boys around for a couple of hours so women will want to go home and spend some quality time with their own gladiators!

Granted, they weren't terribly bad movies, but again, just lacking.
