Angels and Airwaves

So, I know most of you ladies don't frequent the music forum, but let's just put that aside and talk about Angels and Airwaves for a minute.

 

So, I know people think Tom DeLonge is a freaking lunatic, what with saying God helped him write the first AvA record and everything else he's said, but I'm going to be honest here and say that "We Don't Need to Whisper" is one of my favorite records of the past few years. Listening to it gives you that same blast of pure inspiration/energy that makes you wanna jump up and run or do some type of cardiovascular exercise, much like Andrew W.K.'s entire discography.

 

Seriously. Go back and listen to it and tell me that it's not one hell of a record. Even if you don't like the Astronaut Radio Bits or Echo-ey U2-like guitar charges, it's still, without a DOUBT, one hell of an awesome album, no?

 

Yes. It is.

 

The new record kinda sucks, except for a few numbers. Even though "Everything's Magic" sounds like a song I wrote called "Run" which sounds like the Cure's "Close to Me".

 

What's your opinion of Angels and Airwaves? Do you miss Blink-182? Is Plus-44 better? Did you LOL when they mis-spelled Matt Wachter's name in the inital pressings of the "I-Empire" booklet?

From what I have heard from Angels and Airwaves I have liked it but to be honest I haven't heard the entire record, however I really want to!

 

You mentioned U2 in your review so that right there makes me even more excited to hear it in its entirety.

 

Plus-44 is another band I have been hearing a lot about in the last year or two which I also want to check out!

I mainly play the drums but can say I play some guitar/piano/bass... Drums is my true passion. It's the instrument that got me to love music in the first place!
