ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN IS " ITS THE 80S ALL OVER AGAIN "

Say it while you can. Movie coming

I keep thinking this same exact thing.

Everything has been great so far, but with the upcoming movie, all of this rehashing of 80's stuff is probably gonna go by the wayside, and we'll start getting crappy movie figures.

We should start a petition to stop the production of this movie! @hmmm@

Gi Joe was never meant to become a live-action film when are they going to get it!?!

But again, I may be dreaming...does anyone else remember someone at Hasbro saying something about the Stinger?

In the Toy Fair Press Release they posted on Friday called one of the vehicles a Cobra VAMP, and speculation was immediate that it would be the Stinger, and Hasbro either got the name wrong, or can't get the copyright for the name anymore.

But that obviously isn't the case. Hasbro just mislabeled the VAMP as a Cobra vehicle, or else it was just a typo.

oh for the love of God, will you all get over this. The movie is happening, if you dont like the thought or concept, dont go see it. I will be supporting it regardless. We will have JOE toys all over the place, along with Joe stuff in other areas. GI JOE will be advertised to the Kids again. They will have plenty of product in order to make movie toys along with other stuff. There is nothing wrong with having new joe figures in the 25th anniversary style.

Looks like pretty cool stuff to me. :)

Still not lovin' the style of the figures (articulation handicaps and whatnot) but for the PURE nostalgia of bringing ARAH G.I.Joe back...just as it was originally released (in all the classic names & classic appearances) this is coming along pretty nicely.

The 12" stuff stinks, but ARAH 12" stuff always has. :(

Was hopin' they'd continue along with the classic style for us 12" AT fans.

Good stuff nonetheless and hopefully I'll be able to get caught up on what I'm already so far behind on, in getting this stuff added to the collection.

I don't see why they would not do more than one line. Hasbro does multiple lines for Star Wars, Transformers and Marvel. They can do a regular line and a movie line at the same time.

Most of the time when a movie comes out, all other lines have been put on hold for at least 6 months and they focus on the movie. Happened with every SW movie, and with the TF movie. I wouldn't expect to see 80s joes during the movie blitz. They may or may not come back after that. Who knows.

Foregoing on the current rehash of the 80's theme and going with JUST the movie related items for G.I.Joe (under the ARAH, semi-theme...or whatever it is they're working on, regarding it  ) would be a BIG mistake imo.

Movie related toys plain and simply suck. Video game related toys BARELY fair much better, but better than the movie ones do.

I'd rather see the current style and formula continue until ALL is rehashed and redone, before they can it for the movie line. Once the movie hits, it could KILL all that's known of G.I.Joe the Real American Hero years anyway, so pound it out as fast as all possible Hasbro, before you even think of adding to it's death by humiliation, by making a line of crappy action figures for a crappy movie. ^_^

Just my opinion! ;)

I have young cousins and know all the children my friends have who love Transformers because of the new movie and do they play with the toys?!?

OF COURSE NOT! They have an xbox 360 and play the game because that's the only thing 3-12 year olds do these days.

We live in an age of technology right now. When I grew up there wasn't many video games so I had toys to play and be creative with.

I thought they nailed the 12" figures when they had those first ones based one the ARAH figs that were all soft goods, I don't remember the name but there was a cool Destro that had a helmet that clipped over his head and a CC with a plastic hood, and the Blue/Black SE... I don't remember the rest.. but they were AWESOME.. then they started using the molded clothes and went down hill from there.. I still want to dig mine out and customize them with updated bodies, I think theyd look awesome... then again, I haven't seen them in about 12 years, lol.. so they probaby suck..

I'm just hoping Sideshow makes them like that, then I think they'd be awesome... hasbro should just forget about the 12" if they're gonna give us that crap they're showing.

Every thing looks fantastic with the exception of the steaming piles of 12" plastic. I know they are aiming for kid's there, but why aim so low?

The cartoon figures are the main reason I stopped customizing figures. Given enough time, everything will eventually hit the market.

Between Joe's, Indiana Jones, the Hulk mock Joe figures, a few other cool items coming up this year, it's gon'a get expensive. Talk about feast or famine. Haven't seen this many awesome toys on the shelves in close to 2 decades.

These all look really awesome! I really like the 12" figures (even if they ARE still using molded on clothes >>) and the 3.75" ones look good, but they look too much like the 25th figures and last I checked, you can't really play with those much less pose them properly. How are you supposed to put them in vehicles? Ah well, guess we'll find out

One could say the same thing about Transformers. The huge, multi-million dollar franchise Transformers movie @smilepunch@ GI Joe could get the coolest movie ever and people would still complain about it. Fans are just never pleased.

Not necessarily. My son (who will be 3 in April) knows Spider-Man (and that he is Peter Parker), Venom (and that he is Edie Brock), Clone Troopers, Batman, Superman, Joker, Optimus Prime, Bumblee Bee, etc... And he has toys of all of them. I'm doing my best to keep him away from those damned ol' video games and keep him into toys as long as possible. Nothing is more fun than playing Spider-Man toys or Batman with him. Technology be damned!

On the actual topic, however, everything I see so far looks amazing. And my wallet weeps softly for Star Wars and GI Joe are going to pillage my bank account. That BAT is quite possibly the coolest thing in the 25th line yet.

Yeah, but movie figures are almost always terrible..........I don't know why its like that but movie figures are usually far lower in every category compared to regular figures IMO.....its almost like Hasbro is buttering us up for the onslaught of movie crap that will come out and peg-warm all over the place like every other movie figure. (with an exception of Transformers this past year)

I'm still open to the movie.....but I never usually buy movie figures.

but if they are using the same designs or what not, then why the hell would they such in any way shape or form I really do think there is no pleasing people, which its cool everyone has their own opinion, but saying stuff is gonna suck before we see anything is really stupid In my opinion.

quite possibly. I'll agree that a lot of movie figures don't live up to other figures, but let's not forget one crucial fact. Movie toys aren't made for collectors. They're made for kids and kids don't ask for a lot. I personally don't really care if the toys to the movie aren't to my liking if they and the movie tied to them attract a new generation. If this gets more little kids shouting "Yo Joe" than i'm all for it

For once I'm going to agree with SKARAPZ @smilepunch@ (I kid, I kid)

He's right, though. The movie figures will be the same style / construction as the current 25th. There will probably be other scales too, but the bread and butter of GI Joe is the 3 3/4. So there will not be any goofy changes to that. There might be some figures that are not what we're used to, but they will be most likely in a different scale, etc. I don't think they're going to go in and mess up what is working very very well for them now, anyway.

It was confirmed at Joe Con last year that the movie figures were going to be the same scale/style/construction as the 25th (as George said).

What wasn't confirmed, is that we won't be getting a 25th Airborne that's our regular Airborne. To keep from confusing children, I'm almost certain we'll only get Wayansborne.
