Paint Apps Shown On Box That Aren't On Figure

Now we all know that Hasbro likes to dazzle us with pretty pictures of new figures only to deliver a product that...well, shall we say is a bit less than what we saw in the pics.

I was just looking over the box for Incinerator and comparing the box pic to the actual figure and of course the paint details on the box pic look a bit better. Of course this is nothing new and nothing exclusive to TF's.

But this got me wondering, could this be considered false advertising? They show one thing to entice people to buy but deliver something less than what was advertised. I always thought that was a very low practice, but is it illegal in any way and they've been allowed to get away with it? @hmmm@

Yep, totally false advertising, but what are ya gonna do.

But it isn't; see Stevey Maximus' post.

..not to say that it isn't annoying.

I stand by what I said. Not once did the toy or any version of the toy or prototype or test shot ever look like it does on the back of the box.

They purposly take the stock photo and doctor it up in photoshop to make it look way better then it really is. They didn't take a red toy and make it blue half way through the factory run, they deliberatly took the standard toy, tried to make it look better then it really is for their advertising, so they could sell more.

..yes, they do that, but that's really neither here nor there; once they stamp the "product and colors may vary" on the box, they have done all that is legally necessary. Like I said, I don't like it either, but it's still perfectly legal; hasbro's not dumb enough to get themselves involved in too many lawsuits.
