Modern Red Tornado

I just got my DCUC Wave 1 figures and I think they're great.

I really like Red Tornado (his paint job's really bad though, but I liked how Mattel painted his joints yellow where the yellow should be), but I'd prefer the modern version.

 

Does anyone know if the modern version is out or when its coming out?

 

I'll probably get that and turn this one into a Dr. Fate (If Mattel doesn't make Fate in Wave 4 or 5, that is).

Modern Reddy got put on hold to get wave 2 out as fast as possible. He and the second variant will be circulated back into rotation after the initial release of wave 2,due out this week. So I would say 2-3 weeks at the most. I think they should just make modern Reddy the 6th figure in the wave 2 case.

yep, GL is right - Mattel's 'official' answer on the wave 1 variants:

 

Kastor: Regarding the DC Classics line, what was the dropped variant for wave one?

 

Toy Guru: It would have been an Etrigan repaint with black lips and slightly different eyes (in a more Kirby look). Unfortunately in our efforts to get Wave 2 out as quick as possible, the Wave 1 variants took a powder. We are working on finding ways to get these to the market, perhaps in future mixes.

I think they should just make modern Reddy the 6th figure in the wave 2 case.

 

Won't the sixth figure be Superman Red (or Blue.. depending on how you look at it?) They are supposed to be packed 50/50.

The said they would be a 50/50 production run, not case ratio, but i would think it would be smarter to pack 1 of each. We will see when cases get shipped out next week. CSC should get theres Friday,I am sure they will post a pic on fwoosh of the case pack out. They did with series 1.

Modern RT was the only wave one figure I wanted. I have the classic DCD RT, and happy with it.

What would be nice is if they wind up doing chase cases either in stores or to comic shops only down the line like hasbro is doing with there wave ?2? chase figures
