Rumor : Devil's Due Loses G.I. Joe comics license

My money is on Marvel getting the license back. With Hasbro and Marvel now in bed together, a high profile Joe movie coming out, toys that are once again selling and a back log of 150 issues Mavel getting the license back makes complete sense. Add to that I think we will see either a direct continuation from the Old Marvel series that ignores DDP completly or an entirely new redo of the original series.

I hope Marvel gets it back too...

I really don't like these smaller imprints getting good licenses... that just leads to lots of miniseries and late comics.

Probably not going to be a popular announcement, then.

Phil kost, Military Advisor for Devil's Due, has said the licene is going to IDW over on joereloaded. That's not an official confirmation, as Phil doesnt work for either company that are involved with the new license.

But Phil Kost isn't a liar, for one. If he didnt know, he'd just say he didnt know. If he says IDW's the one, I'm gonna say that's where our new GIJoe fix will come from.

This is actually not a new rumor.

Its been said since the GIJoe convention this past summer that the license was going to become up for grabs in the near future. DDP did say that even if they don't get the license back they would still be able to finish the WW3 storyline. From what I've been told its pretty much already decided where the license is going but untill all the t's are crossed and i's dotted we can not announce it. However between the two most rumored choices of Marvel and IDW getting the lisence we would like to know who you the readers want to see get the lisence. So we strongly encourage you all to head over to The CNI main page and cast your vote on our news online poll found on the main page

said it before, and i'll say it again if the ddp continuity is out so am i. Did i like all there stuff? definatly not, Casey's writting was Garbage, to put it nicely. But wwIII has been amazing, and they have done a lot for us. My concern is story above all, if we loose the negatives like lj's death, we also loose the positives like Kamakura, Barrel Roll, the death angel virus, and wwwIII thus far. I don't want to re-read a reinstated type story, or a new contunity.

Not always true, and DDP has been getting the main series out regularly since AE started. Now I know Storm Shadow had some problems, but I think that's because of the different artist they have used. DDp just shipped issue #31 last week and it started in July of 05 with a zero issue and had a special issue around 12 or 13 to tie into the search for CC arc. That's 33 issues in about 31 months.
