I hate the whole "Zombie" thing at MARVEL. It's a disgrace to the legacy of everything that Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Roy Thomas, et al, did to make Marvel special.

 

In fact, I pretty much dislike most of what Quesada's "boys" are doing at Marvel. I can appreciate that they want to do some different things...but they seem to be stuck in a nihilistic, deconstructionist mode that, frankly, has worn thin for me.

 

"Zombies" is a classic example of this.

 

Sorry. I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, as I realize that there's room for all kinds of tastes and opinions...but watching Spiderman, a HERO, chew on his wife's intestines is completely unedifying, and without any redeeming qualities.

Hawkeye...a fave of mine, former leader of the west coast avengers, former major player in the avengers....is now ronin, a marginal character at best....why? because bendis does not like hawkeye. the latest one is Loki....thor's pain in the ass bro...is now...tada...thor's pain in the ass, but very curvacious sister.

I've expressed my disdain for MARVEL's current direction with my wallet. I hardly ever buy any new MARVEL comics. Mostly, I buy compilations like MASTERWORKS and ESSENTIALS. To me, those represent the real nature of comics.

 

In other words, they were intended to be comics, not the highly pretentious, convoluted crapola that Quesada's boys produce.

Even though its all part of lokis own plan of survival knowing that thor & that other gods would hunt him down like a dog and kill him?... Personally I think its great! I'm sure loki has a way of turning him self back into a dude as well once he has defeated thor and any other gods that will stand in his way! He is working with/along side doom after all!

 

 

I can understand some things bugging yall like say spiderman telling the world who he is, & then them just changing all that and getting rid of his long history with mj ect but little things like that or fun books like marvel zombies that really have nothing to do with the regular MU are suppose to be just that fun! Sounds to me like some of you just have a stick up you're ass if you're not letting you're self just enjoy the the ride!

 

Heck even spidey hates the fact that he is a zombieand that he ate people and his wife and aunt all he does is whine about it half the time

I am confused...how does the deletion of spidey's marriage from history have nothing to do with the MU? I do believe it was in the regular MU and not in the Ultimate one.

Man I been reading comics a long time....they are changing far too much all at once. here is a (incomplete) list of some of the big changes:

1-cap is dead.

2-proffessor x is dead.

3-the x-men are no more.

4-rick jones is now the new alter-ego of the hulk.

5-the hulk is red.

6-Loki is a chic.

7-hawkeye is now ronin..thats lame as f&&k.

8-peter parker is no longer married to MJ.

9-Peter parker reveals his identity to the world.

10-the world no longer remebers that peter parker is spiderman.

 

there is more...now all this could be really cool if it were properly spaced out, but all in a very short time?!?! It's a bit much for me. Not every story needs to be an event that will change things....they can have arcs that are great stories without constantly trying to create upheaval in the character. They used to do it...I am sure they still can

I was talking about zombies not being apart of the mU not the other stuff & yes like I said I can understand how something like peter & mj could bug ya but its really a little thing... the spidey books have always been f***ed with imo so there is no point in letting it bug ya... You know they will just go and change it back sooner or latter anyways! Just sit back and enjoy the ride imo we are getting some great stories out of it! Granted its a shame they could have just given us the great stories with out having to do that but what are you going to do...

 

1 Yes he is & I love it! TThere is a new cap now and he is kicking ass! The entire cap run thus far has been fantastic! & steve rogers will be back as some point or another most likely as well!

 

2 Yes he is and wow what a way to go I never would have seen it coming! Also he is not really dead just brain dead... so he will most likely be back again as well at some point..

 

3 pft yeah sure... I'll buy that when they stop pimping out X-books Xmen arcs have been out freaking standing of late!

 

4 &5 ehhh... not sure what to make of this... I was only realyl a hulk fan for a whiel because of planet hulk but they sort of screwed that up with WWH :S

10 yes interesting is it not?.. Personally I don't really count any of the spidey books as part of the regular mu they reset stuff so much in there :S Everynow and then though you get some good enjoyable stuff out of them and thats all you can do is sit back and enjoy... Theres no reason not to just because of change! What I would like to see is more well thought out events like planet hulk & some of the latest xmen arcs for example played out for the long wrong and not mucked with by the mega events... Its really just the mega events that muck up all the other books...

 

Theres really no way the WWH book should have packed into 5 lone books for example ...
