Really Big Screws - My New Pet Peeve

I've got three figures that had screws put in that were way too big, and they've cracked the plastic hole they go into on the back of the front torso piece. I know it's something that can't be seen from the outside when the figure is all put together, but I just can't consider the figure "mint" when I know it's there - I mean technically, it's a broken piece whether you see it or not, and that bothers me.

Does anyone else have this problem? Or even care? Do you think this is something that was done in the Hasbro factories here and there, or did a collector down the line do it when replacing a rusty screw or something?
