Whats wrong with grunts face? was he looking for love in all the wrong places??? looks like ass! but then again all 25th figures look that way to me!

I'm wondering what the Grand Slam head might look like. After all they shared a head in RAH. Why not use that one?

How is Grunt a "Senior Ranking Officer"? With that said I'm glad we are getting a Grunt but I'm still not liking that Duke figure. Not sure what to think about that Hawk. To me it looks like yet another chapter in the confusion that is the "Is that Duke or Hawk?" saga. I think I prefer the one from the comic pack.

I believe the actual concept of these as Hasbro revealed them last year were "evolutions sets" so you go from Grunt to Duke, to Hawk, just as you would go from Trooper/Officer/Commander

that helmet cc looks the closest to his original fig's color doesn't it? also, is it me or did they finally correct his face plate and make it a little bigger?

 

i agree, these are all passes except the one to get grunt, and he's not all that impressive either.

The cobra trooper est is a pass for me at least, I own way to many troopers now. I kinda like the Seigie set, the officer might look a bit better in person. Grunt is a must have, duke and hawk will make decent custom fodder.

How on earth did they manage to ruin these? That took effort. 2 more cc s? amidst the how many that have been and are going to be released. If they just replaced him that pack would sell amazingly. Heck on the cg pack, why not make the cgs the same? THe joe pack is the worst. Another duke, so simliar to what has been done, why not make him have a green shirt and pants, or tiger force? When did hawk or grunt look like that?

That Crimson Commander excites me for the fact that a Red Laser custom is really simple now. I`ll buy that pack and the Joe one, the trooper pack will be skipped as I already have enough of them.

The problem with these sets is that the figures are ALL already available.

 

Crimson Guard, Cobra, Cobra Officer, Duke. All already available.

 

Crimson Pack:

Crimson Guard: Got it. Why do I need it again when I can get it as a single?

Cobra Commander: Red....yeah (sarcastically). Enough already. If they needed an individual they could have used, well ANYONE.

Cimson Guard "Commander": The BC version was a little goofy, but still unique. They could have at least tried that figures colors.

 

Cobra Pack:

Cobra Cammander: AGAIN? WTF?

Cobra Officer/Trooper: How is a Cobra trooper considered a "senior ranking officer"? I'd expect this pack to have 2 Officers instead of one Officer and one trooper.

 

Joe Pack:

Grunt: Cool, I think people are over reacting to the tiny picture

Duke: Meh. We got him with that jet pack, right?

Hawk: Wow, what a bummer for the people who picked up the first comic pack just because he was in it.

 

This are INCREDIBLY lackluster. I see people buying the Joe pack just to get Grunt. Maybe the Crimson pack for the "officer" and that's about it. Unless people had trouble finding the Trooper/Officer singles.

The packs don't really bother me at all.I'll pick them up to support the line.As far as Grunt goes if he still looks like that when they come out I'll just head swap Grunt and Hawk's heads.

The naming of this being Senior Ranking Officers is not exactly what Hasbro is doing here. What they are doing in putting in a high ranking leader (Hawk and the two CC's), a middle ranking officer (Duke, CG Officer, Cobra Officer) and a low ranking troop (Grunt, CG, Trooper).

 

That is why guys like Grunt and the Cobra Trooper are in these. It shows an order of rank. It does not mean that Grunt is super high ranking or a senior officer.

 

Now does everyone understand?

 

Something that could be done in the future would be IG Destro/Voltar/Iron Grenadier. The IG is not a senior officer but it has a low ranking guy, middle and high rank. See how it works?

I want the night Watch set mainly to rape it for parts, to use for the Infantry.

 

Cobra Trooper and Officer should have had better variation Like Making a Brother or Scarface or some other Significant Variation.

I realize my last post was really negative w/o anything constructive so i thought i'd add that i liked the idea behind these and it could have been great, even without new parts.

 

THe joe packs: How about rather than duke the corrected orginal flint? no stubble on Grunt and paint hawks arms and that borrowed duke chest to make him like v 2.

THe cobra pakcs could have worked many ways, but it would have been best to have not included a unique character.

If they absouletly had to throw someone in, why not the twins in cg suits and helms so that you can plop the helmets on and have cgs, pack one with the officer/trooper the other with the cg and viper.

Thing is, these had potential, even if 66% were repaints. But they don't offer anything new, except Grunt, really. I mean TWO Cobra Commanders? Give me a break. They coulda thrown in Baroness or something.

I would have prefered a dark blue helmet Cobra Commander. I love the battle helmet CC, but I hate the light blue he is always painted. I would like to see one released painted in the Hooded CC's colors.

Pretty much just reiterating what everyone else has already said. The Joe pack I will pick up.. for Grunt. Don't need another Duke in the exact same uniform and Hawk is ok, but could take or leave him. As far as the Cobra packs go.. I might pick up the Crimson pack. Crimson CC is pretty cool, but the Siegie Officer is rather atrocious in color. I would have preferred an Immortal or Commander, but that would require a new sculpt.. And finally the second Cobra pack is a complete pass.

 

When this year is finished we will have 5 different battle helmet CCs, 2 different hooded CCs, and then the Armored CC. Sheesh. And thats if they don't throw us another one some where.
