Big ECW Debut Tonight, Maryse Turns 25, 'Mania Shoot!

Kofi Kingston debuts on ECW tonight.

 

John Cena's upcoming WWE movie "12 Rounds" will have a very fast turnaround. The movie starts filming next month and continues through May. It is scheduled to be released in theatres four months later in September. The plot is similar to the one in Cena's first film, "The Marine." Instead of playing a Marine who's girlfriend gets kidnapped, Cena will be playing a police detective who's girlfriend gets kidnapped.

 

WWE filmed a WrestleMania commercial in St. Petersburg, Florida two weekends ago. Among those featured in the commercial are Kelly Kelly, Mae Young, Maria and Carlito. The filmed a scene where Maria gives mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to a guy after he was drowning. Mae Young then shoves Maria aside and gives the guy mouth-to-mouth.

 

WWE SmackDown Diva/developmental wrestler Maryse Ouellet turned 25 years old yesterday.

I really was not too impressed ith Kofi. His debut reminded me of Gail Kims.

 

It did not help that the monkey flip was botched early in the match. After that it seemed like the pace of the match was gone. I could not really tell if it was because of Kofi or mini Tomko.

 

We'll see how he does next week.

Kofi's debut didn't remind me of Gail Kim's debut. After all, he didn't win the Women's title in his first match, LOL!

 

I'll wait to pass judgment on Kofi because he was in the ring with a clown who, deservedly so, is a prelim. I have seen this guy working Heat matches when WWE is in the area (most recently in Greensboro against DH Smith) and he is impressive on the outside and Khali-esque in the ring. Better luck to Kofi next week with an actual quality opponent. He's got potential.

I hope he takes on Nunzio. We know Nunzio can take bumps and make his opponant look good. Then we can see how Kofi looks.

I saw Kofi at a house show last May against Val Venis and he botched alot of moves in that match. I never expected him to go any farther after seeing that but I thought he must have improved with WWE bringing him up to TV.

It seemed odd to me that WWE would not find a jobber who they knew would make a guy look good in a debut match. I really figured he would have gone against Nunzio or KC James. If he is that sloppy I guess it did not matter.

 

I have a feeling he will end up like Santino and talk more than wrestle, Matt Striker and manage someone(I know he really is a good wrestelr, wasted talent) or Armando and be a GM or something. If he is a good talker just give him an on air job without him wrestling much.

He botched nearly everything but he still managed to showcase some really unique moves. I wouldn't write him out yet. He was probably nervous and the random jobber they got to lose to him was rather stiff anyway.
