Glassman's Custom JLU Green Lanterns Salakk and Spol

Couple new figs.

 

I can say i'm off to a better start this year. I made 4 different jlu figs for the whole year of 2007, I've already got 2 done in the first 3 weeks of 2008. Maybe a third this week.

 

Continuing with my lanterns from JLU episodes...

 

Salakk and Spol

 

 

Here you can see how i made them.

 

Salakk is a new version flash with the elbow and knee articulation removed. Casts of dove's arms were added. The head was sculpted with apoxie sculpt.

It was hard to make out the detail of the reference pic i had so i took some license with his head.

 

Spol is kyle body, cast of kyle head with apoxie sculpt added.

 

 

The hardest part of making these guys... was painting the non traditional lantern symbols. I suck at painting, so i take alot longer to paint than anything else so it can look half way decent when its done. Painting circles is no picnic.

I wasnt happy with the proportions of salakk. I said before that it was hard to find ref pics..then i remember this

little thing called Screen Capture...Duh!

 

So i popped in the episode of the Return and paused it.

 

I hacked up sal's face and rebuilt him. I can live with it now, not perfect but better from front and side

Love the custom work on the heads, glassman! I would've like to see a lighter shade of green on the costumes, but it's still BEAUTIFUL to see that group shot of custom figs!

Thanks Titan. I got that comment before. I tired to lighten the green when i did Zed. The problem is it stood out too much from the rest. So i figured a darker uniform green was better than 5 different greens.

i know what you mean but it's all worthwhile!
