Does anyone know if Hasbro or TB ever used custom artist molds for actual production? I know Hasbro might release in 08 a line of Marvel Legends that have interchangeable parts (Mimic)? Anyway let me know what you think. I LOVE THAT POLARIS version!

1. Hell yeah x-factor!!! I will get these for sure if they ever put them out. I wonder who the BAF on that will be, if its not released as a box set

2. Why the hell is there so much pictures of the audience, who gives a sh*t.

3. Minimates are dead.

4. Marvel over Dc anyday, but I love the Flash figure.

Thanks for the update

I TOTALLY AGREE when I saw these figures..I got SO happy!! That Polaris is EXACTLY the one I want. X FActor! Wasn't too siked about Marrow. Did You get to see Emma Frost? That one is very nice also. I just don't understand Emma uses her beauty as a weapon and the one Hasbro approved for production looks like the mom from THE WONDER YEARS UGH!!!! I'm glad you liked the figures. Let's pray that Hasbro listens.

These customs are very well done, but most of the character selection leaves me cold. I don't like the 90's "Jim Lee" era of the X-Men.

I'd prefer Silver-Age versions of Lorna and Mimic. I realize that probably puts me in a minority, but...oh, well..

I may be dumb for asking this but are Jim Lee and Stan Lee in anyway related? I grew up watching the cartoons. Yes Im a young guy only 25. Anyway the cartoon is what got me hooked I just think the silver version reminds me too much of a green scarlet witch, but then again the Xfactor version was a mix of Rogue and Jean Grey. I hope when they do Polaris it would look very nice, and not in anyway shape or form a horrible mess like Emma Frost,Scarlet Witch, Marvel Girl (jean grey) or HORRIFIC Mary Jane UGH!!! double UGH!

You're in the minority, my friend, the Jim Lee era of X-Men defined this group. Just because he bolted Marvel, doesn't diminish what he accomplished for the X-Men and Marvel. Same goes true for John Byrne and Chris Claremont. These are probably the most demanded for versions of the X-Men ever. And the costumes from that era will live on in the minds and hearts of Marvel readers, whether Hasbro or Toy Biz released their figures or not, whether their sculpts are do justice to their work or not.

I really like this Emma Frost custom!

KYLE ROBINSON's customs are very nice also! I think he should be employed by Hasbro to make all female versions! Anyway does anyone know if he makes customs for purchase? Or even does anyone know where I can buy nice female customs for my X men collection? I need Emma Frost, Shadow Cat and Jean grey?

I'm definitely in the minority on THIS board...that much is true. But that's because this board is composed MOSTLY of people in their 20's who came-of-age reading the X-Men as done by Jim Lee in the 90's.

Regarding who "defined" the X-Men...sorry, but I disagree here, as well. My response is partly generational, and partly historical.

From a generational perspective, for me, the X-Men were "defined" by Dave Cockrum and Chris Claremont. Giant-Size X-Men # 1 (which came out in 1975, BTW...and which, as a 9-year old, I found in a drugstore in Gettysburg, PA) was the "deefining" moment for the X-Men for folks of my...ahem...slightly older demographic. This issue saw the debut of Storm, Nightcrawler, Thunderbird, and Colossus. In addition, it re-launched Wolverine, thus setting the stage for his becoming the attraction that he is today (which has always eluded me...can't stand the character, personally...never have...).

Now, from a historical perspective, I'd say that without the major momentum supplied by Cockrum and Claremont, and the unprecedented run by Claremont and Byrne, then Jim Lee's X-Men would NEVER have even been possible. The X-Men were already HUGE in comics before anyone ever heard of Jim Lee.

Each generation has it's heroes. For you (as far as the X-Men are concerned), it's Jim Lee. For me...it just isn't.

Again, you speak for your own. Dave Cockrum also did a good run for X-Men, comparable to Chris Claremont, Jim Lee and John Byrne, but he does NOT outshine them IMO. And fyi I am in my mid 40's so I can compare eras and not a late bloomer as you describe and an avid reader of these books since the early 70's.

I'm right there with you Lemonhead... Gambit, Bishop and Ninja Psylocke are the only Characters worth anything from Jim Lee's run. From the quintessential 90's costume (with the straps, buckles and pouches) everything looks so dated?

I'm more into JRjr's run, and Art Adams doing Annuals/Minis... Because I read the comics and didn't buy into that garbage cartoon, I know that Mike Mignola also did covers for New Mutants, X-Factor, and X-Men Annuals.

These characters existed well beyond the cartoon, and for people to dismiss our devotion to these characters because of the "boob tube" is silly and narrow minded!!!

Why do you think in the 12+ years that Toybiz was creating Marvel action figures, they never released a "Jim Lee" Jean Grey? Because kids have no interest in a chick that uses her mind! Especially considering her costume had nothing to do with her powers?!
