Apparently is already a hit.

"She's a 10-year-old hockey player-turned figure skater from upstate New York.

But it's the long, silky red hair of Mia, the 2008 American Girl doll, that most caught the attention of fans during Tuesday morning's unveiling at Millennium Park's skating rink."

I'm unsure about these dolls...they seem kinda creepy with their personalitys defined etc. They are obviously really popular with young girls but theres just something about them I don't like....the whole commercial take-over-your-childs-life thing.

What do you guys think?

I don't see anything wrong with American Girl.. When I was younger, I always wanted one. I still sometimes get the catalogs. I actually know an elderly lady that collects them, b/c she collects dolls and thinks they are very cute.

The stories are really good too, the books and such. Very educational about the times with good lessons and everything!
