So what version of Superman will be the first in the DCUC?

Be it from the Golden Age or The Man Of Steel version with the longer hair. I think it'll probably one of his early designs.

What do you think?

Looking at the DCUC Batman figure, I think they'll probably do a 70's era Superman, which would be really cool. Something like the way Neal Adams depicted him.

That would be my guess. Something a little less "Muscle Beach" than the DCSH version. Maybe similar to the one from the original 6" Batman line, only with more articulation. Hopefully without the "super splits" to.

If you look at the JLA members that they have done so far on waves 1-2-3, they're from the Satellite era, so look for a figure of Supes from that era. Also, why would you want a less muscley Superman figure?

What's "muscle beach" about this! Why would you want someone known as "the man of steel" less muscley?

I could care less for the long haired 'hippy" version of Supes that came out after his death. What's the fascination with wanting a Supes with long hair?

More articulation? What's wrong with the 21 POA they have now? IMO, the 4HM incorporate the perfect blend of sculpt & POA in their figures. They put the articulation where it best works for the figure. I don't need every finger articulated or the front half of the feet.

Why not a Chris Reeves Superman? The 4H can sculpt him, I'm sure and it would fit in fairly well with the Batman we've already got. Plus he's less muscley than the current figure, so those who want a more toned down figure are happy and I don't think anyone out there would complain over getting an action figure of a man who practically DEFINED the character for everyone since 1978.

Frankly, the less muscley "Curt Swan" look was good enough to last over twenty years, it might be nice to pay tribute to that era.

That's what the DCD line is for. This is not gonna be an artist specific toyline, it's a generic figure toyline. Why would you want Mattel to become another DCD with this artist specific crap?

I quit collecting the DC line to their scale FU & their artist/story specific lines, the last thing I want is for Mattel to ever go that route as well!

I want comic accurate, generic versions of characters in the DCU from the 4HM, not a Jim Lee, Swan, Kirby, Perez Byrne based figure, go to DCD for that trash!

Not one of these figures looks like any specific artist rendition! They are generic looking!

Aquaman looks like no specific artist drawing. generic!

Firestorm? Generic!

Hal? Generic!

Are the 4HM inspired by certain artist renditions of these characters? I'm sure they are. But what they do is incorparate a bit of certain artist's look into their sculpt, but still end up doing it in their own, non-artist specific style!

Don't get me wrong, I love the art style of the artist I listed, I just don't want artist specific sculpts based on their art cuz then everyone & their mother will be asking for figures based on their favorite artist & that's what DCD is for!

I want this line to be a generic, scale compatible line across every single wave. I want to be able to grab a figure from wave 13 & pose him/her/it next to wave 1 Orion or Reddy & have them look like they came from the same wave!

You can't do that with DCD due to their multitude of "Superwonderbat" artist/story specific lines & screwed up scale issues.

I have to agree with you. DCD is where we get the artist inspired lines. Not that it's a bad thing to get Jim Lee or Alex Ross figures. They're definitely not ugly and most capture the artists impressions of each character but keep that in the DCD realm. Mattel has gotten three waves in the can, so to speak, with generic versions that almost all of us are happy with (I said almost not all). I love each of wave 1, and waves 2 and 3 look fantastic so let keep them like that. However I think we can still get versions of figures from different eras. Marvel has done it with their "first appearance" moniker. I'd love an "original version" of Batman or Superman. Wouldn't a Jay Garrick or Alan Scott be "original versions" of the Flash or GL? I think we could get them in and people would still appreciate them, without the negative response.

I have no problem with people asking for certain characters in the DCU, just don't ask for characters based on a specific artist's art! Take that request to DCD, that's what they specialize in.

I want DCU figures based on the 4HM generic sculpting style, be they BA or modern versions.
