Killuminati 8" Kustom Koat Reviews

I got my Kustom Koats yesterday and thought I'd do a little review of them. I got these Kustoms Koats made by none other than our very own Killuminati. He's been making 1:18 klothing and diorama tidbits for as long as I've known him, even some sweet buildings and such..

You can see his stuff here, basically if you know what you want, email him, and let him know and go form there:

Anyway, I ordered 3 koats from Killa, 1 Destro trench, one Bomber jacket and one Parka.... wait.. what Parka, there's not a parka on the site??? Yeah, that's what's cool about Killa, you need it, and he can make it.. so when making my order, I asked him about making a Parka, tried to be as descriptive as possible and he delivered. So, even if you don't see it, don't be afraid to ask!!!

I'm going to be a tease and do these one at a time(that was MS won't kill me, and it'll give me a chance to finish taking pics)..

First off is the Destro Trench Koat... When I asked about it, I asked if it could be made a little longer, almost to the ankles and sure enough, just like I asked, BAM! Right to the ankles, So,just so you know, The one he has at his site is a tad shorter, so keep that in mind if you order it.

The coat is double lined so there's room for your Joe(or in this case Cobra) to move around in. It's also real easy to pose your figure in any pose possible(at least any one that the factory figure will let you do)... the only part I noticed was he couldn't get that 90 degree elbow bend, but that's understandable(at least to me it was).. but still, he has plenty of movement and the way the koat is put together, you don't have to worry about stress ripping or tearing the fabric. Killa went the extra mile to make sure there are cuts and slits in all the right places(in the inside) to make sure you figure can move with ease.

The sleeves are also well done, doubled over inside and heck, they look like.. SLEEVES, lol.. and there are also small little cuts in the front of the Koat that are meant for pockets. I was a bit hessitant at first cause the 8" joes have huge hands and the slits weren't all that big, but with the material Killa uses on these(think fake leather like material) the hands went right in without a problem.

A look at the insides of the Koat(notice the small flaps and slits near the underarm/torso area)

If I could want anything else done to the coat I would have to say I'd like a little more detailing, maybe little pocket flaps next to the pockets, zippers or buttons, maybe some buttons on the sleeves... but all small stuff and seeing I dont even know the hows and whats of making minature clothing, I'm more than happy not having these.. maybe as people buy more and Killa makes more.. he can get to know the materials more and find more things to make these small little details... so in other words.. BUY MORE!!!

Anyway.. I hope you enjoyed my look at Destro's Trench Koat by Killa.. next up is my Kustom Winter Parka.. so stay tuned!

Just so people know, the pants were from some random Bratz Botz doll and the HAt was form a WCW wrestler.

Cool stuff, JoeRhyno. I ordered a couple of coats, too. Hopefully I'll get them in a couple of weeks. I will buy more stuff after I get my first order. I didn't know that Killa takes custom requests. Maybe I can get him to make me some cool ninja clothes for Shiori Crossbow Stormshadow. He looks kinda lame bare-chested...

NOT A PROBLEM MY FRIEND!!!

My next review is of the Winter Parka I had Killa make for me. There won't be as much talking in this review, as most I said about the quality and construction of the Destro Trench goes the same here...

A little background on this though is I approached Killa asking if he could make me a winter coat, similar to one of his other coats, only with a hood and white. He asked for any info I could give him and I basically said, Like what Han Solo wore on Hoth, lol.. only white.. and I let him do the rest... so without further ado...

Now, with this coat, just as it was, it was a little plain, and just didn't quite grab me like I wanted it to, so I grabbed a belt and put it on and it felt much better. With the trench, it looked fine hanging open and all, but with this coat, it looked like it needed to be closed, I mean, it is to keep the cold out... right?

Anyway, I had a gun that I started awhile ago so I thought I'd finish it up and do the belt with the same type of paint application, so they matched(and then I even added a little to his feet too), lol..

I love this shot, I can see him camping in the snow just waiting for the right shot.

Another seller is that hood, when I first saw it, I was a bit scared that it wouldn't even fit on a head, but I was surprised to find that not only did it fit, it fit with some room and looked quite spiffy up, or down... Killa was also kind enough to throw in a mask to keep my friend here warm, I didn't plan on using it, but my SnowJob custom wasn't finished, so I figured, why not???

Now, I just need to get him some warmer pants...

Like the Destro Trench, the Parka is equally made with the double lined material and the slits on the inside to help with movement and the slit pockets on the outside... though, I didn't chance putting those man hands that Arctic Duke had in the pockets, mainly cause of the custom belt on him, but from the look and feel, it should work just like the Destro one. Also, and sadly, as with the Destro Trench, the Parka seemed a bit plain, missing buttons or something, but with the added gear, that helped spruce things up, a lot!

A couple of pics of just the coat

Out of the two so far, judging the koats alone, I'm liking the Destro one more, but with the added belt on my Parka, along with the mask, I'm leaning toward the Parka being my fav so far...

With that, stay tuned and on Sunday I'll post my last Killa Koat review, My General Hawk bomber jacket!!!
