A better GIJoe Real Life Movie than Hasbro?

It looks cool. But at the same time it looks like Street Fighter: The Movie. Except (thankfully) with no Jean Claude Van Damme. But Pretty good for a fan movie.

Well, if it wasn't for the extremely cheesy Storm Shadow costume (and the low budget Cobra Commander mask), the thing looks like it has some great action sequences for a fan movie... and most of the cast is pretty spot on (as in pretty much look-alike).

I think those are the same guys that were behind the Special Missions 1 and 2 fan movies a few years ago, where they had an absolutely great-looking Flint in those, can't find a link to any of these old fan movies with a quick search... anybody remembers?

The back-story seems to involve a prostitution network or something but hey... why shouldn't this be a more interesting backstory than the "Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity" that is gonna be on screen in 2009?

For a fan movie, I'm impressed... it's not THAT awful at all...

There's one JOE fan movie involving kids on youtube right now in like 204 parts, now that's awful and painful to watch...

Porno sense... tingling.

The action sequences looked really good though.

Does this constitute of copyright infringement though? Use of likenesses?

no, this isn't a commercial endeavor. if they tried to sell the movie, then yes.

I was under the impression that the "trailer" here *is* the fan-film. As in, there's no real plot, or deeper dialogue, it's just a mash-up of clips to give the sense of a movie. I mean, if this *were* a full-length fan film, with an actual plot, don't you think they'd've put some of that in the trailer?

When you break it down, it look to be about three or four short scenes total. A few characters by an aircraft carrier, Cobra Commander and his troop(s), "Duke" and the porn chicks, the ninja fight, and some Beachhead mugging. It's a lot of repetition, but essentially just those few things. Hardly enough to be a movie, and only the porno prisoners scene has even a hint of a plot.

I'd say we're looking at the finished product here. And I still feel dirty.

Nah, it's gonna be a full fan film... supposed to be released in 2008, probably on DVD only (which I think is strange...)

Special Missions 2 was like 40 minutes or so... yet most of the people only saw the trailer (I saw the full thing.. which wasn't something to write home about.. except for maybe the final hand to hand fight between Beachhead/Lowlight and Firefly)
