Why is no one buying up Cobra Legions?

I haven't bought them because of the weird choice of character selection. I have no need for 6 or 7 Commanders. If I were designing the set it would have been all troop builders. 2 basic soldiers, an officer, a communcations guy, air trooper, snow trooper, desert trooper - stuff like that. Then I would have bought 10 or 15 sets. It doesn't really make sense to have unique characters like CC or SS in a troop builder pack. I'm just waiting for the single carded air trooper like everyone else.

I picked up a Legions set for 12.48 or something like that.....
Where?

It was at Target.......I went back today to see if they had reduced them again and they didn't......but I noticed that the 5-Packs that were in the toy aisle were reduced to 12.48, but the stack of Legions that they had overstocked by the board games were only marked down to 17 dollars and some change. It was weird??

When these Legion sets 1st came out, they were very difficult to find in my area. Now after Xmas they are on clearnace & all of my local Target's have at least 5 of them, (& thankfully I have only seen figure swaps twice)... I think once they come down 1 more time they'll fly again.

It should have been all troop builders, then you would never see them at all. But I think CC & SS are a deterant, & most people (or even the casual fan) would not buy that set over the other 2. The original Cobra set is NO WHERE now... & the Joe set is getting sparse. Hopefully when the 2008 Battle Packs come out (with 4 figs instead of 5) there will be some better choices inside. I love the Stinger Driver & Air Trooper, & thought the Comic Trooper was a good idea, but Storm Shadow needs a bit of tooling to pull off the VvV look, & CC is kinda "meh."

I just checked a Target today, the legions sets are still there. Its gona be awhile for the stores to be completely sold out.

Im surprise scalpers havent bought them in mass quanities.

They aren't in demand anymore......so that means that they are off the scalpers radar.......Scalpers only pick up things that are somewhat rare and in demand. 2 things that the Legions pack are not anymore.....the 25th line is slowly cooling down on the secondary market (Namely ebay) due to the fact that they are more widely available.

yeah i see tons of the single cards finally. good selection too. by me it seems that shipwreck & buzzer are the most available.

as for the legions pack, you could get them online either amazon or walmart.com for the same 18 bucks (if you buy 2) and shipping is included so many people got a bunch online already. also getting stuck with another cc & ss is not cool.

I think the single carded Air Trooper killed the set.

Cobra Commander and Storm Shadow were right out for multiples. That left the Stinger Driver, Comic Trooper and Air Trooper.

I don't think the Comic Trooper was going to be that popular since he doesn't fit in with the regular troopers and officers. But, at least, the Air Trooper had a unique enough look to compensate.

But once he got moved out of the pack, that just left the Stinger Driver and that just, for many, wasn't justification to spend $25-$30 for, essentially, one army builder.

As for me, I have SOoooooooooooooooooooo many Joes, SO many, that there is no place in my collection for "lazy" repaints. Wheter it's an ugly comic pack Duke with blazing green pants or a COOL Stinger driver. I'm not droping $25 for a "one-out-of-five-ain't-bad" figure pack. I'll get the ones I want some other way.

That Legions pack was never even tempting for me.
