DC Universe wave 1 found at Los Angeles TRU

I found wave 1 of the DC Universe figures at TRU here in L.A. I bought Penguin, Orion, and Red Tornado. I was really happy to find him, he's awesome. They also had Etrigan and Classic Detective batman but I passed on them for now.

Batman seems to be the most plentiful (as usual) they had about 3 of him. Only 1 Red Tornado. 2 Etrigans I think. 1 Penguin. 1 Orion. I got there a half hour late so they might of had more.

I've been on these boards for some time and I've always wondered why people ask for the UPC's? Are those who ask employees of TRU or WM and can scan inventory for figure locations or can anyone call a store, give them a UPC number and ask if it's in stock (or when it's coming)?

Actually, it was said at SDCC that the penguin is actually a chase variant, much like how the teddy bear was included in certain packages of Bane in Wave 1 of DCSH

Yes TRU can use the UPC # to check the computer for stock in their store.

Yes the robot penguin was going to be a variant however it was scrapped. Also The classic Red Tornado has been switched to a regualr release while the modern version is now the variant. Someone at TheFwoosh, got them a few days ago from a LCS. He said both cases had classic. This one is classic as well, so It seems mattel changed thier minds.

I am so excited, someone on ebay is selling cases if 5 for 64.99. I have to be patient and wait for BBTS for my cases, I hope they get them soon, Mattel should of worked to have them out by the end of November. Anyway they look great and I am seriously excited.

They were $9.99. I just never cared for the Etrigan character. And I already have enough Batmans and didn't really feel the need to buy another version.

This news makes me worry a bit. They hit TRU of all places. Lately TRU has been the ONLY option for getting DCSH. I was hoping that with DCU the radius of stores would expand a little and I would have a little less of a hard time finding the figures I want and not relying on my local TRU. It's a bit early to tell but it would've been more encouraging if someone found them at walmart or something first.

I'm not sure if it helps you any but Target will carry them as well.

Awesome, thanks for the pics. I'll probably get all of them. Not too thrilled about the Batman or the Penguin, but I'll need the CCF pieces. I really don't like the style for Penguin, but he is a character I do not have yet.
