Best marvel movie of 2007, and 2008

Recommended Posts

Not really sure what the best marvel movie of 2007 was.

Spider-man 3, and FF4 had big budgets, and big special effects but not so good on the plot.

Ghost rider was a good start.

I guess Spider-man 3 edges it, I'm hoping for more in 2008 though.

Hulk vs. Abomination should be awesome, so that's my pick for 2008

I don't really remember what else was on this year but I liked FF2 the best.

id have to say F4, because lets face it, the damn thing was PG. you have to lower the standards for it

as for 2008, iron man looks really, really cool.

I don't agree with that; it implies that violence and other adult themes equate to quality.

I mean, the early 90's Disney animated movies were PG, and they kicked the crap out of FF2 in terms of quality.

Just seeing Silver Surfer on the big screen and Lawrence Fishburne voicing his character makes it the best movie for 2007 IMO. Second, would be Ghost Rider with Nic Cage doing a great job. I didn't really like SM3 and his 'I feel sorry' for myself story plot is really starting to get old on me. It might have worked on the first two movies, but not this time. Plus the way he quickly dispatched Venom didn't really work with me. Sorry, Sam Raimi.

You do realize that's just about every Spidey plot ever, right? Even when the guy wins, he loses.

That formula works on comic books, but it is really gettting o-o-o-o-olllld in the movies. I suggest they start toning it down or it will start tuning out some people and they would rather check out other Super Hero movies instead.

I think that would be disingenious to the nature of movie, in general. Audiences don't want to see Peter Parker on average days, or even really good days. The stakes have to be high, and Our Hero has to be backed into a corner. To have him be upbeat in this type of situation downplays the drama.

I mean, consider: in the entire trilogy, the only time Pete was really geniuenly happy was at the end of SM2 when MJ choses him over Jameson. And even that was snatched away in the next movie, because it would have been boring, otherwise.

Point taken, but not all audiences come to these superhero movies to regularly break out their hankies and snort in them like a blowhorn. Come on now, we want action rather than another episode of 'The Young and the Restless'. Throw me a bone.

I'd say that box office grosses disagree with you.

And the conclusion of Spidey 3 didn't have enough action for you? Come on, that was awesome.
