What if the DCU had a Civil War

So if the DCU government decided all super heroes needed to be registered and all the super heroes were divided like in the Marvel U. which side would the heroes take?

 

I think Batman would definately be AGAINST registration seeing as how it would blow his cover against the criminal element in Gotham. And since it wouldn't be very interesting if Batman and Superman WEREN'T pited against each other, that would make Superman PRO registration by default. Plus, since we all know Supes stands for the American way, and if the American was was pro registration, then Supes would be on board.

I agree, I don't think it would have worked anywhere near as well (if you want to say it has worked) in the DCU as in the MU. But hypotheticly I think that Batman might be for it except for letting the bad guys walk free. What would have made a story like this in the DCU interesting is if would have taken place while Lex Luthor was President. I don't think Superman would be really for or against, but haveing him have to decide if something that he believed in (if he was pro reg) would be enough for him to turn other in and over to luthor who he knows is evil.

I don't see Batman being for it at all - Bruce would never give up his identity to the government, become an agent, told who the enemy is, he's too independent for that. I'd imagine the registration act would be set up because of heroes like Batman.

 

Green Lantern would be exempt, as he's part of a bigger organisation outside the earth and his duties as a GL would have priority over his 'initiative' activities, but I think Hal would always be against it anyway as he's always disliked authority.

DC Comics already had their own version of the civil war time past, the grafic novel of Frank Miller, The return of the Dark Knigth. remember? they superman was iron they man of that epoc and they batman sure the america captain, was not the same history, but if the same sense, the government adopts a politica almost police officer and demands to superheroes to controlling itself in its dominion, to safeguard the nation of the enemies who threaten destroying it.
