For whomever posted asking why some of us don't use credit cards to pay for things, in my case it's quite simple. When I was younger, I got put in a situation where I had to support a parent after a divorce. I had just turned 18, therefore I had offers from every bank under the sun for credit. So I took 'em. I thought it was a quick fix to help me take care of all the expenses I had.

 

I'm still paying almost 10 years later.

 

Now everything I buy is with cash. I refuse to use a credit card, or even apply for them. If I want something bad enough, I'll save for it or I'll use the cash I have on hand to buy it. That way it's mine and I don't have any future payments on it. You'd be surprised how much money you can save by not putting anything on credit cards and avoiding monthly bills.

Give me a break....so what if Ive been here 4 months or 10 yrs??? Im having the same problem as some of the people on here.....just because you dont like where this is going.....doesnt mean the thread has to be closed...If you dont like what you read then dont read it.....I on the other hand like how this thread turned out because it shows me what greedy PRICKS most of you are.....and I said "Most".

 

This thread is about....."Greedy Mer Fer" I believe.....I agree with him!!!!!! The ones of you dogging him because of his thoughts on the whole situiation are more or less the greedy ones he speaks of.........chow.

Well for your info.....TRU is going to start doing that very thing...putting a limit on what you greedy SOBs are going to walk out with.....they know what your up to (Scalpers).....how do I know such a thing???? Because I called The TRU home office yesterday to let them know whats going on.....after I got off the phone with Hasbros Customer Service center of course.....both companys know whats going on....and in a few weeks you should start to see limit signs at TRU not letting you take more than 2 of the same thing. You know what they agreed with me 100 %. Im on the phone with Wally Worlds Customer Service right now and you know what they agree......By the way douch I do pay attention to these threads and the conventions because I go to them......so why dont you have a Coke and a smile and just shut up!!!!!!! Now you know and knowings half the battle...........

I don't shop at TRU and haven't for the past 5 years. My toy-buying regime doesn't even involve large chains.

I had to quote these three posts to contradict your "I don't care"-comment.

 

And as far as customer service, and signage goes... Of course they agreed with you. But why would they care WHO buys their items as long as SOMEONE buys them? I sure as hell wouldn't as a business manager. Sales are the bottom line. NO business will limit items to individuals if that business wants to keep sales going. (In the non-retail food industry at least.)

 

So, all Joe collectors that army build live with their parents and in the basement no less?

 

And if you can't afford to collect, maybe you shouldn't. I don't think either SW or Joe will suffer from your lack of patronage.

 

Support of scalpers on e-bay? Try buying from some other site. Smalljoes, BBTS, Gijoeheaven... There's plenty of non-ebay places to purchase these items that are not e-bay.

 

And as far as refusing to pay $6-7 more per figure... You probably spend more like $10-12 more per figure if you hit up all the stores in your area once a week, and have YET to find anything...

Wow great advise...if only they WERE IN STOCK FOR MORE THAN 2 MINS..........Ive tried these places.....do you really think Im that much of a newb.....My collection could make your collection its #$#@#.......Ninja please.....In my 20 something yrs of collecting I have been able to walk into a store and buy everything Ive wanted....like ive said before its not just the scalpers but its hasbros bull of shipping only one case!!!! The scalpers dont help....but seeing as how most places only get one case the ones of you with 4 beachheads.....or 8 snake eyes.....10 storm shadows.....3 lady jays.....could you know stop buying every friggin figure that comes out the day it comes out....and give some of us a chance......I have YET to see anything past wave one and that was Aug.5th.....

You're upset over your jealousy that other people have (and in some cases multiples) of stuff you have yet to see... Without even knowing where you live, you're not exactly opening yourself up for help either. I, personally, don't object to helping anyone when they ask politely (over the boards), but only AFTER I have my fill.

 

I'm going to guess that you're not the only collector in your general area.

 

I have only seen Wave 1 once, back at the beginning of August, and I saw Wave 2 Saturday. That's the extent of what I have seen. Yet, Clam, who lives 40 or so minutes away from me, or DoomSaber (25-30 minutes) both have seen the product and boast of the ready availibility. If I wanted the product bad enough, I'd drive out there. I do know that eventually it will hit my local stores though, and when it does, I will promptly be there to get it (if someone else doesn't beat me to it).

I was even lucky enough to score the entire wave 3 at Target EVEN THOUGH I ALREADY HAVE THE WHOLE SET!! This includes the rare stalker I also grabbed the trooper pack EVEN THOUGH I HAVE ONE ALREADY AND I DO NOT TROOP BUILD!! MWWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

 

I also bought the remainder of wave 2 at 2 wal-marts.....I am tempted to buy EVERY Joe I see from now on just to keep those who are entitled to figures from getting them.

 

I WANTED TO DEPRIVE someone after this pathetic thread.

 

Don't go to Greeneville, Or Johnson City, TN... I OWN all the new Joes here! In Multiples that is!!

Hey Kevin, I think we all need to just face facts.

 

There's a segment of collectors that simply are not interested in using their heads to collecting-that are more ready to complain than to work perhaps 1% more to gain the stuff they want and be happy.

I'll come right out and say it: if anyone in this thread is trying to collect toys and NOT enjoying it because they cannot find them, then they are going about it wrong.

And complaining about it or accusing people of hoarding or depriving others is just a clear admission of that to the world.

 

Rather than complain about things or accuse someone else........why not makes friends, build up connections, establish a rapport with others, trade, deal, shop on line, makes a personal arrangment with a store you want to patronize ( and will deal fairly with you) and generally enjoy the hobby.

The solution to your woes is right in front of you and has been all this time.

 

 

Or the whiners can leave the hobby and form a group called CNI ( Complainers Network International) and knock themselves out whining in the best ways they know how.
