Why all the hate for the original 13? (25th related)

So let me ask.. if they redid the original "greenshirts" would you want them just like the originals, or would you care if they tweaked them a little(like adding camo, or a pocket here, there that wasn't)?

I wouldn't mind some tweaks to make them a bit more visually appealing and to allow them some room for individuality.

For me the introduction like to many was the cartoon. I liked the toys but the characters in the toon is what got me into it. That's why I'm glad the 25th anniversary starts with the most popular cartoon characters. I'm all for adding in the original characters in, but get the most popular first.

good question joe----

what i would like to see is the original 13 updated -----------maybe even with todays uniforms and gear

in 1982/1983 the standard uniform for a ARMY solider was GREEN BDUS-----NOT SURE IF THEY WERE EVEN CALLED BDU THEN ---

i think they WERE still called FATIGUES,FIELD,OLIVE GREEN

AND IN NO MANNER AM I SAYING DO THIS FOR SURE ----

BUT WHY NOT GIVE US A TAKE ON EACH OF THE 13 IN UPDATED UNIFORMS-------EITHER THE GREEN DIGITAL OR TAN DIGITAL?

GIVE BREAKER A NEW FIELD COMMO SET W A LAPTOP ,

ROCK N ROLL THE LATEST IN HEAVY MACHINE GUNS,

MAKE STALKER LOOK LIKE A TODAYS RANGER --WITH THE GEAR HE SHOULD HAVE,-

--SHORT FUSE GRUNT ZAP ---WERE ALL BASICALLY INFANTRY SOLIDERS (ROCK N ROLL TOO)

JUST WITH SPECIFIC GEAR -----So give them all the same basic body new head scuplt (along the card art lines)

and give new gear but character specific

make Flash ---look like the solideer of "our" future--------all deck out with some crazy uniform (BUT NOT TOO FLASHY)(get it FLASHY FLASH)with some off the wall-----"THIS COULD BE REAL WEAPON"-----

STEELER--SHOULD LOOK LIKE A TODAYS TANK COMMANDER----

CLUTCH---TOO EASY ---BASIC---WITH A V.A.MP.

GRAND SLAM ---????DONT KNOW WHERE ID GO HERE ----MAYBE JST LIKE FLASH---DUH--ONLY A Futuristic ARTILLARY PIECE

Hawk would be a General---only a Field Commander----not a DESK JOCKEY

JUST MY THOUGHTS---------IN 1/2 CAPS LOCK!!!!!!!!

LMAO

I would NOT want anything like that. If they do repaints, sure, but initially they should be of the same design as the originals.

Very small changes, such as Storm Shadow's slippers, don't bother me, as they're more like ADDED details, but outright changes like camo when there wasn't any before is not what I think this line should be about. Figures like the upcoming Zartan and Serpentor are steps in the wrong direction (unless, as it is rumoured, we are getting "classic" versions as well) - I don't want this line ending up like just another JvsC or VVV new sculpt line...

I was referring more to the added detail added to the newer characters and new head sculpts for each one instead of a bearded and two non-bearded with slightly different facial features and hair color. I just want them to stay true to form, but with the ability to have some definite differences.

Oh yeah, well that'd be cool.

I actually like Doc's idea of a "modern" reinterpretation of the original guys - I'm just not sure Hasbro could successfully pull it off. It seems like Hasbro did a lot more research into military gear and uniforms back in the '80s, and today it's like they get all their ideas from comic books. That, and I'd prefer they keep the classic designs first, like I said. Repaints/redesigns can come much later...

I'm all for hasbro making the original 13 Joes whether they were boring or not. In fact I'm hoping they do.

And I'd like to see them made based on their original look, but if they tweaked it a bit like they did with Zartan and Serpentor I have no problems with that either.

I was wondering, why doesn't Rip Cord, Trip Wire and Airborne ever get any love from

G I Joe fans?

I'd like to see them just as I did in 82/83. Card Art Versions are preferable.

The guys who had Beards, should have beards. Maybe not Identical Head sculpts, but I would be OK with that too.

variaions in the shades of Green used too.

I don't like Short Fuze with glasses or Breaker with chewing gum, but I do like Zap with a moustache...

They would all have helmets that fit (and visors if necessary).

A modern Military-esque update would be OK, but only in later incarnations. My Original joes were never replaced when I "played" joes, they were the core of the team, and the specialists came and went.

ANd I'd love to see all of the 83 Wave done in the 25th. I just don't want Joe re-imagined or re-loaded right now.
