hey i like the Ventura Idea VH, i mean he is a straight obviously GungHo - look alike.

but he has been in movies, Piper hasnt, nor does he represent the Military or a terrorist organization, Slaughter did.. both during his career

actually, but at least he was frist.. a Huge Military "join us" figure, like a media friendly Uncle Sam.

:huh:huh?

Piper's been in more movies then Ventura...

John Carpenter pretty much grabbed up ol' Roddy to replace Kurt Russell for his Sci-Fi Horror films...

and Piper didn't do TOO awfully bad, although I have to admit, that THEY LIVE is probably only one of the two or three films I've seen with him in it. ^_^

Let's see........

For the Joe team:

I like the idea of Dog. Duane Chapman is a pretty cool guy, flamboyance aside.

Dick Marcinko--real-life founder and first CO of SEAL TEAM Six.

Andy McNabb and Chris Ryan, two real-life SAS guys from Bravo Two Zero.

I'd bring in Rocky, finally--because I now think his almost-inclusion would have been cool.

Chuck Norris--cuz someone has to round-house kick COBRA into the next galaxy. Believe it.

Mr T. I pity the fool.........plus he was already made in this scale.

If they go with wrestlers--why not Hulk Hogan--they have slaughter after all.

John Steed and Emma Peel--why not?

For COBRA:

Pete Rose--ahem.

Barry Bonds --<cough>

OJ Simpson

Okay, maybe not those guys..........they'd make boring toys....

Ernst Blofeld

Hugo Drax

Dr. Julius No

Auric Goldfinger

Fransico Scarmanga

Oddjob

Jaws

Nick Nack

Excellent choices! ^_^

Maybe throw Dr. Szell in to give ol' Mindbender, Crystal Ball or even Interrogator some time off...

I could see some new Joes like:

Jack Bauer

John McClane

Jason Bourne

Chuck Norris

Mr. T or his A-Team guise of B.A. Baraca (or any of the A-Team guys for that matter)

John Matrix (Ah-nold from Commando)

Or insert any heroic and military type guy who hands out massive amounts of ass-kickery.

Cobra:

Hrm, have to think a bit harder on that one. Villains aren't often as memorable.

I think THAT is the way to go over "real" people. Especially older characters who might be "available".

Okay I thought of a few more from some of my favorite shows.

First from Sleeper Cell, FBI agent Darwyn Al-Sayeed (Michael Ealy) for the Joes.

As for Cobra, they can pick up his nemesis, Faris Al-Farik (Oded Fehr).

From the Military Channel Future Weapons show, I would add Mackowitz (the host). He was a real life SEAL and would fit in perfectly with the rest of the Joes.

Is there not A 21st century Action hero??

Maybe i just can't think of one-----Harry Potter?

is it because all the ACTION MOVIES have been comic movies?

Yeah, I was just thinking the same idea. If personalities on the History and Discovery channels are game, ya gotta have R Lee. If memory serves me, there is a 12" version of him.

Another idea that crossed my mind, how about Ronald Reagan or another past President? I may be wrong, but didn't one of the roundtable guests in the past say that he suggested a President (or Commander In Chief if you will ;) ) figure?
