I just have to come out and say it.....

LCBH are far superior to any of the crap Hasblow is passing off as legends. Screw lead paint, they should recall Ml because they are toxic to the eyes!

eh, posts like this are equally ignorant to the "hasbro is doing an awesome job" ones, they aren't the worst figurers ever, hell most people tend to look at the toybiz figures with rose colored glasses but a giant portion of them sucked, so we can't keep bashing everything hasbro does, they're only 2 waves in and theres already been improvement, and they are keeping the Icons series going fairly well.

but at the same time the paints (or lack there of) are truely awful, the price increase even though we've lost accesories, comics (which i don't give a rats ass about, but still a point to be made) and the shrinking of the BaF's to what i personally deem an insulting size (theres no way in hell annilhus couldn't have been single carded), so to give them total praise and say they are doing great is just as stupid as calling them the devil for killing marvel figures

I just started collecting the Mortal Kombat figures by Jazzware and with the way articulation is going, ML will soon be like the MK figures. DOn't get me wrong, I like the MK figures, fan of the game so it's fun to get figures made, but having so little articulation makes having any articulation at all pointless. You try to put them in a semi-dynamic pose, but cannot achoive it because their legs dont allow their feet to bend that way or a lack of an ab joint makes them just stay in these static poses. The Mk figures have over 20 POA, which is not enough to make them really able to take any 'fun' poses, and Hasbro is taking the articulation in that direction.

I hate the way that Hasbro has handled the Marvel license and I'm going to keep posting to that effect as long as I have a forum to do so. I thank the good people who provide this particular forum - I just hope the Bro is reading.

To the people who say that Hasbro critics should be "silenced" - that's un-American, bud. One of the ideas that this country is based on is the notion that we all have a right to speak our minds. If you don't like it, move to China. They're very good at silencing dissidents over there (and they can make a fine action figure as well).

So yeah - I don't agree with many choice Hasbro has made. I won't go over them all now because others have done so in this thread.

I think that this is a very important time for fans of super articulated figures. Hasbro didn't totally switch over to the new style over night. Really, most of the figures that they've made so far have had almost as much articulation as the comparable Toybiz figures. I can overlook (but not forgive) the Hasbro elbow on the new Thor figure because the old Thors didn't have elbow artic that was much better. The elbow bent to 90 degrees, if that.

But what's really troubling to me is the trend I'm seeing. They remove the toe joints here, and hand joints there, and it's not a huge deal. But then in the new 6" Black Costumer Spiderman prototypes, it looks like he's got a Hasbro elbow too. Now wait just a cotton pickin minute here - if there is one character in the Marvel Universe who needs his double elbows, isn't it Spidey? Thor and Hulk are not really acrobats. Spidey is. And characters like Black Bolt and Namor have sculpts that would allow for full articulation as well. So why on Earth not do them that way?

The only answer that makes any sense to me is that Hasbro is trying to cut costs any way they can, and they're trying to slip it past us bit by bit so that we don't rise up and storm Castle Hasbro with pitchforks and torches.

So to me, the tough part will be passing on a character that I really want, and really like the sculpt of, because I want to protest the reduced articulation. I want a green speedo Namor as bad as the next fanboy. I want my black costume Spidey (I wanted him when the movie opened). But I can't allow myself to shell out my hard-earned cheddar for a Spidey whose elbows only bend 90 degress. Because that's no Spidey at all!

It will be easy to pass on some of the figures from that wave - it's not like the BAF is cool in any way!

I will say that Venom and New Goblin look like winners to me. Why on earth not do all of the figures that way? I don't get it, Hasbro...

Toybiz arm construction=10 pieces

Hasbro arm construction=6 pieces

Toybiz was extremely independent when it came to making toys. Ask Mattel how it feels to recall a bunch of toys! Parental Activist groups would go bananas if something broke off (NO! Not Toybiz?!) and caused a child to choke

For my part I'm not blown away by Hasbro's Marvel Legends offerings up to this point.....far from it in fact. But that being said I don't think things are as bad as people like to make out. Hasbro's first wave to me wasn't very good and so I passed on the whole wave, even though I wanted Banshee and Emma (the characters not the Hasbro figures). The Annihilus BAF was really pathetic and really shouldn't have been a BAF, I'm not saying that 'cause I expect BAFs to be the size of Apocalypse and the Sentinel, but really his overall mass was more or less no different than Angel so it's hard for me to see what was the point of breaking him up into 6 pieces. The character is also too obscure to motivate most people to buy the whole wave to be able to build him, which was the whole point of BAFs in the first place. Wave 2 was more than ok, but things look like they'll take a hit in wave 3 before bouncing back in wave 4. Hasbro seems like its going to have a lot more up and downs than Toybiz did, which is a bit of a downer.

I offered my nephew the choice between a Hasblow ML and a Barbie, and he chose the Barbie because he said it was cooler! LOL

well then heres hoping your nephews parents didn't have their heart set on grandchildren ;)

I could care less about the differences between TBML and HML.

(Yes Hasbro could be better) but I'm not gonna pass on a charater I want cause its arm can only bend 90 degrees. I collect ML because I love Marvel Characters.

I have problems with Hasbro myself. I will say that in some areas, they've done pretty well (no paint lock, and there's something about the paint they use, like it's smoother), and need to work on others. That said, there's always room for improvements. no matter what it is, or who makes it. And Hasbro does monitor the boards. They do see the critiques. Explaning why something isn't cool goes further than "Hasblow sucks, Hasbroken blows". Reasons, like the ones listed here, and in several other threads, can go a long way. What they do about the compaints and suggestions is up to them.

Oh please don't remind people of that. The last thing we need besides another hate Hasbro thread is another "Hasbro we want" thread lol.

Though probably true, makes the fact that HMLs are more expensive than TBMLs look even worse, doesn't it?

How about the fact that LCBH are the same price as HML??? You people just do not stop to think, its just oh Hasbro's stuff sucks or is to expensive because I think so. See, the ML license cost Hasbro way more than the LCBH license is costing ole Toy Biz. So once again, more pieces make figures cost more, as do paint apps. Sadly that is the truth of the industry.

And the comic book, which Toy Biz also dropped from the LCBH line.

So Toy Biz drops comics and raises price and aside from using extra (and in some cases unneeded, IMO) POAs and paint washes (which themselves are not nearly as prevalent on LCBH as on ML), Toy Biz did a LOT of the same stuff Hasbro's done with their 6" efforts, including using cheaper packaging.

I do stop to think. And it's been discussed at length how much money that license costs Hasbro. And even though it's a hefty fee, that cost is spread against MANY lines...EVERYTHING Marvel-related that they release. It's not like they paid that fee just for the right to be able to do the ML Line.

And the fact is, I couldn't care less that they have to pay a licensing fee. That is the cost of doing business. If you're at the store, and a new Star Wars item comes out but the price seems too high to you, do you stop and say "well, they do have to pay that licensing fee to Lucasfilm afterall, so I guess this price is okay w/ me afterall." I'm tired of that flimsy excuse...let's have a pity party for Hasbro.

If you want to do comparisons like that how about all the manufacturing and distribution advantages a big company like Hasbro has over a smaller company like TB? Do you honestly think from start to finish they can't crank out figures more cheaply than TB could?

I suppose $10 was just about right for the movie figures, too, huh? @hmmm@
