New HML waves: Anyone think they look horrible?

I think I will stick with my Bowen & Hard hero statues & the Marvel 12" line & also the Dc 13 " line.

I will agree about Black Bolt. Would it have been hard to make his cape the way Spider-Woman's webbing was done?

 

On my Spider-Woman, at least, the webbing makes it impossible to pose her arms much at all. I like the idea behind the rubbery webbing, but would have liked the soft-goods that came with the Sinister-Six Boxset Spider-Man. Hopefully the cloth will look better once we see it.

I really like Hasbro's Marvel Legends. I think the quality of the toys is much more consistent and the sculpting is better. Don't get me wrong, ToyBiz had some fantastic figures. However, they also had some real stinkers, with loose joints and strange sculpts.

I would'nt say they TOTALLY stink yet--but they need to improve. The worst thing for me is the fact that Hasbro has taken a lot of joy out of hunting down and collecting Legends...Most stores here in Flint & Detroit dont even have any series 2 out yet!...Some stuff has been okay....Black Bolts cape is disappointing as well as no white eyes...Magneto Icon is scrawny and goofy looking...and how 'bout all that articulation on the Marvel Girl Wal Mart Exclusive!...I love the way they displayed her "birthing" hips in the package.... @loll@ ....At this point I am more excited about what DC and Mattel will be doing with their 6" line......

for years, everyone complained that they were too hard to find. now, hasbro makes them available online but the shipping is too high.

 

Hasbro has made more characters fans wanted in a few series in one year than we collectively got from toybiz. I mean, who wasn't waiting with baited breath for thorbuster iron man? or the awesome lady deathstrike figure that's one of the sh$%#iest figures ever?

 

I know hasbro is a big corporation and they aren't doing charity here but I think they've done a commendable job and character selection/figure quality is improving with each wave.

 

they could take personal orders from each and every one of us and still someone would be complaining about a lack of toe joints or no wash on a figures underpants.

As a whole, I think they look pretty good.

 

Black Bolt-looks awesome, with his release still at least 6 months away, perhaps small details will be added to make him better (A-)

Daredevil-looks even better than the Face-Off version (A-)

Tigra-looks solid, holding out hope for a more sexy-feline face for the final version (B+)

Nova-something's not 100% right about him, also, would've liked a removable helmet (C+)

Beast, Punisher and Holocaust look solid, not my cup of tea as far as character selection goes though (C+)

 

Over-all I'd give the wave a ( with room to improve before the final product comes out. Good character selection, with improving sculpts

Even though everyone's allowed to express their opinion, I think there's a fine line between expressing your opinion and making the boards unpleasant by a negative opinion all the time, and some people have long since crossed that line. It's a well known fact that reading endless praise is less annoying and unpleasant than reading a negative opinion, which is why people don't complain about positive opinions usually.

 

So everyone that says "You don't see anyone complaining about the people who constantly give praise and who love everything about HML", it's because praise and a positive attitude isn't as unpleasant to read, whether you agree or not.

Black Bolt - I like his design, hate the execution. I hate his knee and elbow joints. I hate his hands being straight. I hate his dopey eyes, and I hate his wings. C-

 

Daredevil - I like him so far. Probably better than all the Toybiz versions of him. B+

 

Tigra - I don't like this figure. I hate the joints on her too - D

 

Nova - he looks so freeakin goofy. His face is the worst part, he looks like a SuperHero squad figure. D

 

Beast - nice figure even if I hate Cat-beast - B

 

Punisher - can't say he looks crappy because it is an artist rendition and thats how he looks... but I don't like him so much. B-

 

Holocaust - meh... never cared for him. - B-

The Hasbro ML Dare Devil is by far the best one i've seen so far. The toybiz version gave him these huge ball joint shoulders. It just looks weird.

The worst was making Cannonball with what appears to be the emaciated Ghost Rider V2 Body.

No Stormfan is right, there is a fine line and the crap like this will not be tolerated anymore. It is making the boards past unpleasant and to many people are complaining.
