Legendary Comic Book Heroes

I came across a full set of the Pitt series and the HML Blob series. But I only bought one. It was no contest. These figures are soooo much better looking than their competitors! I'm not even familiar with half the charactors, but that BAF Pitt is just too freakin' cool looking to resist.

Is it the sculpting, the non-primary colors, the detailing, or the paint washes? I dunno, but these rocks!

I really hope these sell well because there are a lot more Dredd and Conan characters I want. These look so much better over all than Hasbro's stuff. I'm glad Toy Biz/Marvel is staying in the game.

I saw them today at Walmart. I was gonna pick up Dredd and Death but I forgot my wallet. So I might get them next time I go. Then I'll put up a review of them.

Found these finally at a local Wal-Mart today. Grabbed the Variant Savage Dragon and Judge Dread. Both amazing with no loose joints, bad paint apps, or the other usual persistant problems TB had with the Legends line.. of course I also looked over several of each fig before I bought them.

Just a "head's-up" for you all. According to Jesse's posts at Fwoosh, the series 2 Judge Death variant(clear) will be replaced with a Madman (yellow sleeves) variant instead. If this truly is the case, then the Wal-Mart PDQs may be the only place to get the Death variant. So if you have any inclination of getting one, I would strongly suggest buying it when you see it; there may not be another chance at this particular figure. The Madman variant prototype was thrown-out at SDCC and the pictures of it look pretty cool BTW!

So are the variants hard to find? I found them today and went ahead and got them. Figured i might be able to trade them or something.

Not really. The 16 pc. Wal-Mart PDQs have one of each variant including Series 2's Judge Death. The "normal" 12 pc. cases will each contain 2 of each character with the corresponding variant evenly packed. However, depending on where you are, some of the variants are more popular (Savage Dragon for example) than the reg. version. And, as stated in my above post, there is a buzz that the variant Judge Death may end-up a "Wal-Mart exclusive" as it has been said that a variant Madman will replace the clear Death (the reg. one is still going to be in this wave) in Series 2 cases. There will be no 16 pc. PDQs for Series 2.

kamen, i make this suggestion to you...unless you are totally opposed to six inch figures or comic characters figs, i'd open at least one fig, it doesn't matter who, and try posing them out a few times. i PROMISE, if you aren't playing w/ it by the next hr, i'll buy the loose fig off you. these are a lot of fun, even if you aren't familiar/fond of the characters just because they're well made, well executed toys, a harkening back to the days when toybiz got it right. if these don't stir you're love of toys...i can't imagine you actually love toys. i'm exceptionally fond of savage dragon, he poses well, can hold a gun or a matched pair of chainsaws, and he's just FUN! he's currently drawing his pistol on pitt...that'll be a mistake later. that'd be like selling a bunch of wonka bars during the golden ticket contest...surely, you can open just one...

I picked 'em up Monday. The paint apps weren't that great. The inside of Pitt's jacket wasn't even red like on the package. Found the wave again this morning and the paint apps on the figs and Pitt pieces were damn near perfect. Kinda wish I'd waited now. <_<

The first one I ordered on Ebay just arrived today. Savage Dragon. I'm really satisfied with this figure. That's how a figure should look like. The paint is perfect. I didn't like the way they painted hair on his arms and chest in the prototype, but this one looks way better than that. LOVE the articulated fingers, they're huge! And I love that they payed attention to his physics. Tiny legs and huge torso, just like in the comics! :) I'll dig out my old comic books and will re-read them tonight!

I actually did buy one to open and keep. Witchblade. She is super cool and I think you are right. These toys are incredible. But I collect too many other lines to get started on a line that I am not even familiar with 95% of the characters. I just can't do it... financially. If I was more familiar with the characters i would probably be all over this line.

In the 3 Wal-Marts I have seen these I have seen just as many Wife-Beater Dragon, Maskless Patriot, and Clear Death as I have the regular. For the time being, at least, the variants aren't the same ratio as the old Toy Biz Legends figures.

Are these a Wal-Mart only thing, or just a Wal-Mart for now thing? I have been searching high and low for any piece of proof a Wal-Mart near me will or does carry them and I keep coming up snake eyes. Nor have I found anything at Target or TRU. Has anyone in the Philly region noticed a distinct lack of these or is it just me?

Pitt is the best BAF ever IMO!

Yeesh, the reason which I completley stopped reading comics in the mid to late 90's. As toys they are okay, but I mean come on Ripclaw? Monkeyman? These comics were just incredibly stupid and the reason that the entire medium was in such a downward spiral during the 90's. I bought Judge Dredd and that was it, just because he looked cool, but I'll be dead in the cold cold ground before I ever think that buying a ripclaw or a superpatriot figure is a good idea. Again I'll state that as figures they look okay.

I've as far gotten Savage Dragon (variant), Judge Dredd (who looks nifty standing next to Batman), and today I got SuperPatriot (regular.)

Of course, as is my luck, poor SP had the "peg break" problem with his arm, so he's now residing in his package, ready to go back. *sniffles*

I hope to snag a few more SP's though, his overall look is the closest thing I've ever seen to my City of Heroes main character. All he needs is 2 normal arms, a nice hooded cape, and a mouth covering scarf thing, and blam! :D

I just got all of them, including Judge Death. These figures are awesome! It's good to see Toy Biz stuff on the shelves again (the Marvel Toys name is ridiculous). Great paint, great sculpt, great articulation...it was the first time in awhile I've actually hunted for figures, and I wasn't disappointed. Pitt is monstrous!

My only complaint, I'm having trouble connecting Pitt's upper torso to his lower torso. The pegs won't pop into place. Anyone else have this issue?

I hear you gotta use a bit of elbow grease for that one. The general suggestion is to take care of that before you put the legs on the lower torso.

I've found myself a Savage Dragon, Dredd, Ripclaw, and Death figure so far. Ripclaw is pretty "meh" (got it for the Pitt part) but I just LOVE the rest! These are beautiful figures and with great articulation to go with 'em? I couldn't ask for more....except for, like, Wal-Mart to get more of these....f'n scalpers....

I found them at the Wal-Mart on Delaware Ave a week ago.
