NO Marvel Legends in the UK

okay, so the first time I came to London was last September (2006) and I stayed until late January.

off course I did plenty of toyshopping during my time. What I found, mostly nothing I needed, but plenty of it. There was and still is plenty of Toybiz stuff to find at various stores. Toy stores, grocery stores, department stores, discount stores, and of course specialty shops, all carry Toybiz Marvel products. You can find Marvel Legends, X-men, and FF stuff pretty much anywhere.

I first saw the Hasbro ML1 series at Forbidden Planet, a ginormous comic book and toy shop chain, sometime in late 2006. That was the only place in London I saw them.

When I went home in January, I saw Hasbro ML1 and their Spiderman line at all the usual places.

I returned to London in late March and stayed until early April. Again, no Hasbro Marvel Legends could be found anywhere except Forbidden Planet.

When I returned to the US, I found HML2 at Walmart and a few other places. Plus a glut of Spiderman 3 and Fantastic Four 2 figures.

I came back to London in mid June, and was shocked to find barely any Hasbro Marvel products still. You can find some Spiderman 3 figures, but barely any FF 2 stuff, and still NO Hasbro Marvel Legends.

Of course the one place I still find Hasbro Marvel Legends is Forbidden Planet. And they are just sitting on pegs and pegs of them. They hav plently of every character from HML2, at normal retail prices.

So this has me worrie a bit actually. stores here are just not ordering Hasbro marvel items. They are still carrying tons of Transformers, Transformers movie, and Star Wars items from Hasbro, just not any Marvel items.

so what gives???? do UK retailers recognize inferior products more than US stores do?? @lol@

but seriously, what do you make of this?

No idea about that, but Woolworths always seems to be behind, and TRU seems to have the same problem as what I'm hearing of them in the States - difference being we've got cool sub-lines on discount (just got 2 Super-Skrulls for £2.50 each, and managed to find the ToyBiz Hobgoblin and Sandman in 2-packs). But yea, for the Hasbro stuff I've had to rely on Forbidden Planet (and they still didn't have Shulkie). I havn;t checked anywhere else other than the three places mentioned.

hmm.. I haven't even seen them at TESCO...

I've been looking through several stores for toys... not Hasbro MLs because I can find them easily at home... but more like X3 Rogues, Iceman variants, FF movie Doombots... etc.

I somewhat regularly check in Woolworths, ASDA, Tesco, TRU, Sainsbery's, TK Maxx, Forbidden Planet, InStore, Poundstretcher.... etc.

so far, I have only been lucky to find a deformed Rogue, an Avalanche, and a Doombot... but got them all for like 3 pounds each.

I've run across lots of other cool things, like 5 Skrulls, but I didn't need them so I left them... even for 2.50 at TRU

we don't get them until a half a year aftyer the US does.

why is that??? is that just for Marvel Legends??

because with Toybiz's Legends, they didn't seem to be that late at all.

and with Hasbro's other lines (starwars and transformers) there isn't much of a delay at all.

Some store even have some Series 13 Ml left!!!!!!!!!

it just the way the toy industry is over here. there not a big fan base like over in the States
