:) :) Overall, great movie. Can't wait for the sequel. The plotting and actions are well done. On the negative sides, I agreed with the fellow that said a couple of action scenes were shooting too closely.

Okay... a few things I wanna say, most of which has already been said, so I'll try to just leave the new bits.

First of all, the big news.

I don't know how reliable IMDB.com is but on this page, maybe 2 days ago, was a quote that read:

"At one point the planet-sized robot Unicron was in the script, with James Earl Jones earmarked for the role. He is to appear in the film's sequel, with a larger role." *I know this is EXACTLY what the quote said because I copied it to a friend over MSN.*

This is now no longer on that page, which makes me believe either;

1: this is completely true and someone got IMDB to remove it for spoiler issues,

or

2: this is total b/s and they pulled it down to avoid feedback.

*COUGH* or, i could be blind and I just cant find it again.... either way.

No, you aren't blind. It WAS there, because I remember reading the EXACT same thing! Maybe the role that they were talking about had to do with the Aircraft Carrier... Because, Michael Bay said that he wanted to use an Aircraft Carrier, but they couldn't because of money issues. But, again, you didn't read wrong. It was there.

That would be interesting.... but, James Earl Jones? DARTH VADER!!! @lol@

well I am glad they took that out I think unicron in any of the movies would be way too lame & far too soon, & unicron in #1 TF would have just out right bombed!

Rika :D

U it pleases me to summon you here megatron

M No one summons megatron!!

U then it pleases me to be the first! Because ... I am you're father!

M NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Just saw the movie and enjoyed it. I agree that the action and comedy parts outweighed the weaknesses in the plot. While I was entertained by the movie, I am content that the new designs failed to re-ignite my merchandise collecting streak. Personally I can accept the alt-modes choices, but still do not care for the new insect-like facial design of most of the robot modes. I would have preferred a facial plate design closer to the original cartoon and the Classics line. The actual movie toys look rather cheap and poorly designed, but I can still look forward Classics 2.0. Anyhow the movie was a fun ride with plenty of eye-candy to keep the general public and fans alike entertained on a hot humid summer day.

Hmmm, didn't care much for Frenzy either, but I can understand the necessity of the role he plays in moving the story along. Don't know why, but he reminded me of Johnny 5 from the 1986 movie "Short Circuit"

What do you guys think of the theory that starscream was in the formation of jets that fired on megatron, helping to bring about megs' "death"? Would be interesting if it turned out to be true in the second movie, and it'd really add a lot to ss' character, making him the sinister back-stabber once again..

Omg I wouldn't have even thought of that... You would think the other jet guys would be able to tell though eh?.. Or they just figure that because he isn't shooting them down he is one of there own?.. SS could have just scaned one of the jets he blew up before he did then take its place I guess!

garh! Well I think I am going to see the movie again on the 10th! I will keep an eye out and see if I notice anything!!

My two sons saw it, today.

I liked, my boys loved it.

Barricade was AWESOME !!! However, I think he should have beat up Bumblebee in their first confrontation, and that was what forced Bumblebee to get the newer Camaro body style. At least Barricade survived.

Man, for giants the Transformers moved fast. Much faster than I thought they would have them move. Because of their speed, I didn't care for the shakiness of the cameras during the fight scenes. The fighting between the Transformers was so fast that they really didn't need to shake the camera. This is just my opinion, though.

I really liked the Mountain Dew Machine Transformer that was accidentally brought to life. Brings back fond memories of the `80's Commercial With a Pepsi Machine Vs a Coke Machine Transformers.

You know how everyone good has their dark side, and has their inner demons they fought. Well, it seems that the Autobots vice is voyeurism. At the end of the movie, when Sam was lying on the Bumblebees hood and windshield making out with Mikaela, who was on top of him, Ironhide and Wratchet were in vehicle mode with their headlights on pointing in their direction like they were watching them, and Bumblebee wasn't complaining.

Yeah, that's creepy. Well they also suggested taking out the parents, so they don't MIND killing humans if they have to... that's a bit better than voyeurism! @lol@

A couple of things about the shaky cameras and stuff that a lot people didn't seem to like. Yeah, I did think it was a bit fast but I also know and understand the reasons.

For one, they didn't just want the viewers to watch the battles, they wanted us to feel like we were standing on the street while it was going on. An effect which I think they captured pretty well.

Second, the technology they're using to bring this movie to life is still pretty new so they were probably working within the boundaries as best as they could. I would think they'll take some of the feedback from fans into consideration and hopefully give us some better views of everyone in the next movies. The technology will only get better by then and will hopefully be able to expand on what was done in this one.

One thing I wish we would have seen, and I think it would have been CLASSIC! Is if when the power leaked out of the allspark and started bringing things to life if it would have gotten a few of those furbies from the blown up furby truck and turned them into some psychotic little KREMZEEK looking bots.

C'mon...how could they have not thought of that?!?!?!?

And the end result: I left the theater feeling nauseous and with a headache as if I had just seen the Blair Witch Project all over again.

Feel like posting this to celebrate the best TF from the movie:

We saw it again yesterday, and everyone clapped. It didn't quite get the same responses, but I could tell everyone was happy when they left. Except for some stupid kids constantly getting up and asking questions, it was a good experience for all. I can definitely see how Synch and whoever else mentioned it, could see that maybe Starscream was one of the jets firing on Megs. It's possible...

Definitely wish they had more robots, too, but I know they had to explain the whole story. SO hopefully next time, LESS PEOPLE, MORE ROBOTS!!!

And this time I noticed the whole Devastator slip... maybe they should have just called him that then, from the get-go? Or go and say he has a split personality disorder. :P

Anyone see how big the weekend crowds have been so far?

I was gonna go again today, but I'm afraid the crowds may still be a bit big. I'm waiting for yesterday's estimates to come in. Either way the later shows will probably be a bit tougher to get into.

I'm off all week so I'll see it again during the day sometime....maybe twice.

On Saturday, the 2nd time we went, it was pretty packed. People were having hard times trying to find a place to sit. :)

Just saw this today, and all I can say is WOW!

Aside from having a few toys as a child, some vague memories of the old 80's 'toon, watching Beast Wars, and buying a few of the toys from the RID line back in '01, I've never really been a TF fan.

That said, I went into this movie with no expectations, or real knowledge of TF lore, and was EXTREMELY entertained. Entertained and excited enough to come home and start browsing the net for TF sites...looking at the TF's released over the years, and checking out everything I've missed out on. @lol@

I haven't been this excited by a movie since Attack of the Clones. The entire movie was like a visual orgasm. @loll@

Along with the action, it had some great moments, like the VW Bug nod at the used car lot, Megatron flicking that guy and saying "Diiiiisgusting" after him and Prime fell from the building, and the corny "more than meets the eye" line. It was just the right amount of nastalgia mixed into the movie.
