Con Check-In

A job I've been attempting to get for awhile now is suddenly open, and my application has gone through to "the next phase", a written test...

That written test is on Saturday, September 29, 2007. "If you are not present for the test, we will assume you are not interested in the <insert job title here> position anymore."

I don't know about you guys, but this sucks... I really wanted this job, but it's not a guarantee I will get the job, thus making it so I am not sure if I should attend the Con, or go to the test. If I don't go to the Con, I've wasted some $800+... If I do, I definately won't get the job. Thoughts? (I'm asking you kids, cause you're follow Joe Fans.)

beg to reschedule, say you've had this trip planned for over a year.

I would ask to see if you could attend perhaps another test since your "family" vacation has been planned for nearly a year. That worked for me when I got my job close to 3 years ago, and I will still on probation. All in all, I know that it does suck and it is a tough call to make, good luck on your decison, if you want the job, then I say that should be your priorty, perhaps fly out for the con and then fly back on Fri night/Sat morning? At least you will be there for most of the con. Good luck hommie.

Like tazz said, you could always go to con on thur and fly back late fri. Sure you would be out a little (change ticket fee)but then at least you would get all of the exclusives, have a little con time plus make your test. I was on the fence about con for quite awhile, as Sept. is hard for me to get away. It stinks when life gets in the way of our toys, but it happens.

I'm not changing my plans. They're unwilling to work with me on anything.

Well, it's a tough call you made Kev. I know that the job thing is important to you . . . but I can't say I wasn't happy hearing that you're giving them the one finger salute and hoofing it over this side of the country. I guess I have to buy the second round then @smilepunch@

Or you can just get me a job! (Preferably someone in Chicago should hook me up with an Accounting Firm incase I move out out there.)

Thats a wild thing you did there Kevin. But if you really think about it, it was a blesing in disguise. That sounds like a company that would work you to death and then drop you for some stupid reason. We all have a need to work to support ourselves and our families, but it works out a whole lot better if we are somewhere we are treated like people and not another cog in the wheel.

I was thinking the same thing.
