Should Hasbro update the Anniversary filecards some?

It doesn't bother me, and it's easy to justify with a little imagination (if you wanna).

1. All the Joes were shot up with the same life-extending serum that Nick Fury got.

2. The Joe-verse is either in stasis, or time moves more slowly there when compared to ours.

This is also how I will be able to justify playing with retired F-14 Tomcats 10 years from now. :)

That's not what filecard says.

I suppose it doesn't matter since these aren't tied to any specific storyline.

(lol) Crap E. Man...

I like the fact that they're exact replicas. It's the info I grew up reading about them. I mean, let's face it; this is twenty-five year-old info we're looking at, and we're commemorating what was relevant THEN, not now. If they want to do new characters that have recent military experience or recent miltary histories, that's fine. But to me the whole point of doing anniversary figures is to commemorate what was, not what is now.

I could care less. Filecards are something I cut out and throw in a box. Nothing more. You could tell me a figure's real name was Man, Crap E., and I wouldn't care less if it was an awesome figure.

I agree. Besides, for those who truely want classics, the file cards are a good thing.

The characters aren't updated, so there's no need to.

They aren't? Isn' the 25th a "modern" version/interpretation of the classic characters?

How do you figure? Notice I said the CHARACTERS weren't updated. The toy design/articulation was, but not the actual characters themselves. They still look like they did in the '80s, so we should just assume that's the case.

It'd be like having to "update" a character profile of ANH Luke, based on later stuff he did in ESB, ROTJ, and whatever novels/comics/whatever are out there. Likewise, the 25th Anniversary figures are representations of the characters at a given moment in time.
