Marvel Legends Series 4 = Total Crap

CTR posted this, No pictures again. I hope this list turns out to be false cause if its legit I think Nova is the only one I would get.

First Appearance Daredevil

Hasbro is going old school and they are doing it right! Unlike the yellow and red Daredevil Toy Biz produced as a chase figure in their pre-Marvel Legends Spider-Man series, Hasbro's Man Without Fear looks better than a meager repaint. (Though it might very well be). You see, the costume features the double D logo instead of the single D. Since this appears to be a sculpted detail, chances are good we'll see the red costume as well.

This figure features a ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulders, swivel biceps, double pivot elbows, ball jointed wrists, pivot torso, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double pivot knees, and ball jointed ankles. Also, the figure features billy clubs and a functional holster.

First Appearance Storm

OK, about 616 fanboys just chuckled because Storm was topless in her very first appearance. Everyone else will be happy to know that this figure is based on her first costumed appearance a few pages later. Like Nova, rumour has it that Storm may be bumped too.

Assuming she isn't, collectors can expect Storm to feature a removable plastic cape, a ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulders, swivel biceps, double pivot elbows, pivot wrist, pivot finger set, ball jointed torso, ball jointed waist, ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, double pivot knees, pivot ankle, and pivot feet.

Nova

If what we here is true, this figure might be getting replaced with another figure, but assuming that Hasbro is still going forward with the Human Rocket, we'll tell you what we know. This figure utilizes the same body we've already seen used on Quick Silver. Nova's helmet is removable and reveals Richard Rider's likeness.

The Punisher

Hasbro's first Punisher figure is based on the very popular art of cover artist Tim Bradstreet. This punisher sports a dark blue T-shirt with the modern skull, black cargo pants, and combat boots. Frank Castle also packs with a pistol and a huge rifle.

This figure features a ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulders, ball jointed elbows, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, double pivot knees, and ball jointed ankles. While the articulation may seem limited, the sculpt is quite nice. As an added feature, the holster on the figure's right leg is functional.

Silver Samurai

YES! The Silver Samurai was on our wish list and Hasbro hasn't let us down. For the Marvel Legends treatment, Kenuichio Harada looks pretty much like he did when Paul Smith drew the classic battle between him and Wolverine in Uncanny X-Men 173. Collectors may at first be turned of with the paint design due to the white sleeves and legs, but in reality that's what it looks like in the comics, making it one well thought out decision.

Beyond his sword with red 'tachyon' energy signature, this figure features a ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulders, ball jointed elbows, ball jointed wrists, swivel waist, ball jointed hips, ball jointed knees, and ball jointed ankles. Sadly it doesn't look like the helmet is removable.

Age Of Apocalypse Sunfire

One of the most striking character revisions in the original AOA series was Sunfire. Where the regular Marvel Universe Sunfire was a cocky bitter man with a bad attitude, the AOA version was a brutally scarred and tragic character. As such, anyone who loved the story really digs the Sunfire design. For his Marvel Legends figure, Hasbro has opted to utilize their standard body (same as Nova and Quicksilver).

Tigra

Cat chick in a bikini. Alright, we admit it, this character wasn't one of the greatest ever created. Regardless, she was an Avenger and that means Marvel Collectors will go nuts. Hasbro did nail the character's likeness, so it's a no brainer for the hard core fans.

This figure features a ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulders, ball jointed elbow, ball jointed wrists, ball jointed torso, ball jointed hips, ball jointed knees, ball jointed ankles, and a swivel tail.

BUILD A FIGURE Age Of Apocalypse Nemesis

What's big and yellow and super cool looking? It certainly isn't that Bananakin guy we kept seeing last week at Celebration 4 (don't bother trying to find a picture of him in our coverage, we were all far to disturbed to shoot pictures of him). No, true believers, we are referring to the super cool BAF based on the crazy-cool dude from the original Age Of Apocalypse Holocaust. Holocaust? Yeah, Hasbro is keeping the PC name Toy Biz used with the original pre-Marvel Legends version of this character. Nemesis.

i wouldn't mind if this were true.

FA Daredevil: i do like classic looks, so this is AOK with me.

FA Storm: same as above (though topless would rock.)

Nova: FREAKIN FINALLY.

Bradstreet's Punisher: I love that look on him so i'm behind that too.

Silver Samurai: totally. needs more X-villains.

AoA Sunfire: this and the BAF piss me off, though, because i really don't like alternate reality/otherworld/what if figures outside of core continuity

Tigra: also freakin' finally. Needs more Avengers.

BAF Nemesis: same as above (Sunfire). When i get this, i'll trade the AoA figures off to someone, lol.

but all in all, not a bad line as far as character selection goes

Well we already have a FA Daredevil from back in the toy biz Spider-Man Classics line, and frankly I don't need another Storm or Punisher, and not interested in alternate universe characters. Nova is great and Tigra is ok though will probably look like crud. Silver Samurai I guess is ok but just seems like there are more deserving characters to be made then these. I suppose we should be happy there are no Wolverine, Iron Man or movie characters in this wave. The BAF IMO is a total waste.

I'm looking forward to the FA Daredevil; even if they got the "D" wrong on the costume. I hope it looks good, with a face similar to the rotocast or showdown versions. I even hope the red costume is the variant, so I can replace the Face Off DD. He's good, but the meatball shoulders kill him.

Silver Samurai, FA Storm, and Punisher sound pretty good too.

In regards to the comments made by Drama fo yo Mama and Scott, I understand you guys dissing sunfire for being from an "alternate" universe, but suffice to say, the aoa look of sunfire is his current look in the 616 universe. What happen is that Apoclaypse turned him and Gambit into the four horsemen. Sunfire became famine where he looks just like the aoa version. It is possible Hasbro made the aoa version because it is also Sunfire's current look. Heck, he might not be called aoa Sunfire when he comes out.

With that said, I am grabbing him to make him.

FA Storm Hopefully, she is sculpted as well as the one we got not too long ago.

Nova=I am afraid Hasbro might shrink his head like they did with Xorn. Hopefully, it isn't since Xorn had a full cover helmet.

Silver Samurai=Loving Hasbro for another asian character. Sorry to be bias, but both Sunfire and Silver Samurai are long time favorites of X-men fans

Tigra =will like only if she is hot looking. Hasbro has yet to make a fulgy female imo. Hopefully, they do not start the fulgy trend with this character.

FA DD Even though, this is too soon for a DD fig(if they plan to do a red variant,) I am happy since I never liked the previous one with got that came with Kingping and the smc version had a tiny head. Hopefully, this one will become my definitive version.

Punisher=which one is this? Is this one where the Icon version is also based on? If so, that rendition of Punisher rocks. Guessin it will be a scaled down version of the Icon figure if the Icon one is based on that art.

Holocaust=I know a lot of ppl want this fig, so I am pleased he is being produced. Didn't this guy manage to travel to the 616 universe?

Well, this is a decent lineup for the most part, I hope it ends up being true. Nova, Tigra, FA Storm, AoA Sunfire, and Silver Samurai all sound good to me. Yet, I'd pass on Punisher and possibly consider a FA Daredevil, since I've always wanted the original FA Variant from way back when. Holocaust/Nemesis as a BAF sounds pretty cool. Time will tell what happens with the HML4 lineup though.

I for one am not excited over this wave at all. Couple of cool figures for me but the figure choices stink IMHO. I mean 2 1st appearance characters, an AoA, and another version of the punisher. An extrememly weak choice for a villian, not to mention one of the most random choices for a BaF to date. So once again still no 616 Ultron, Klaw, Blackbolt, 616 Sunfire, Polaris, any other member of Alpha Flight, Gladiator (which everyone and their mom has been asking for), or Hyperion/Squadron Supreme. What gives? We have to get basically 4 turds in a wave to get a couple of decent figures. Why not replace those 4 toys with stuff people really want. *sigh*

Although, we each have our own opinions, I just find it weird that ppl keep dissing Sunfire even though his AOA look IS HIS CURRENT 616 LOOK!! If the look was adapted for the 616 universe, you know there are actually ppl who dig it.

Geez, a bunch of new characters (Nova, Tigra, Sunfire, Silver freakin' Samurai!!!), all of whom originated (as stated, Sunfire now looks like he did in AOA, sorry kids, it's true) or currently reside (or is it resided in Holocaust's case, isn't he dead now) in the core 616 plus an update on a figure that was a chase and many people never even saw in stores (1st App. DD) and the best look of a charcter (Storm) that many people wanted in the first place and people are complaining.

The only real downer is Punisher, although I'll take him just for the Holocaust piece, but hopefully he'll have some more new weaponry. We just had 2 different Punisher's right at the end of TB's run and he's not that major of a character. Wolverine is one of the main faces of Marvel, so I can excuse the number of him we've had (he has had quite a few different looks over the years as well). And Iron Man changes armor like most people change pants so the multitude works there as well. Punisher, not so much.

Hopefully Nova doesn't get shuffled out this round, unless it's for someone like Black Bolt, Guardian, Gladiator or another completely new character. That's my real concern with this report.

IMO this is a GREAT series.

1st APP DD - always like first appearance characters, and I missed out on the original chase figure in SMC

1st APP Storm - IMO she is the iconic version of Storm (at least to me) and is a great addition

Nova - Friggen awesome whoever doesn't want a Nova character is strange

Silver Samurai - Cool design, and a villain, nice IMO

Sunfire - Not really AoA since its his current 616 look, and its a GREAT costume design, one of the best

Tigra - Cool, another Avenger, sounds good to me. Ill Take ANY Avengers they toss at me

Punisher - The weakest IMO but Ill buy him for the BAF without any worry, hes not a BAD choice, there is just

a couple of em already made so its not a necessity, hopefully he comes with awesome weapons.

BAF: Holocaust - Whoever does not dig his design is strange, cool looking character ANOTHER VILLAIN is always nice, no hate from me what so ever, though obviously FFF or Sauron or something would be superior, I think Holocaust as a marvel legend will look awesome

B+ Lineup choice for me quite happy with it, lets hope they characters look good :D

If this line up is true then I am all for it. Hopefully DD will be decent because I'm not happy with any that have been released so far. Tigra's great, Silver Samurai, Storm, Sunfire, Nova - it's all good. I don't need another Punisher but this version sounds cool. And Holocaust would be a great BAF. I know there's no confirmation about this, but it sounds like a great wave.

1.FA DD

2.FA Storm(?)

3.Nova(?)

4.Silver Samurai

5.AOA Sunfire

6.Punisher

7.Tigra

I thought Hasbro was keeping these at 8-figures p/series?

I could see them piecing out the BAF as head/upper torso/lower torso/L-arm/R-arm/L-leg/R-leg.

Thoughts? Could this line-up be one figure short (Black Bolt?)

There were two words that really stuck out for me in many of those descriptions - ball-jointed. It sounds like many of these figs will be afflicted much like Black Knight, etc. Ball-jointed elbows, ball-jointed knees, ball-jointed wrists, ball-jointed ankles... The artic on the Silver Samurai sounds absolutely craptastic. Same goes for Tigra. Anyone who has a She-Hulk knows that those bloody ball-jointed ankles leave the figure lacking...I will say this, it sound like they might actually get FA Storm right (Psylocke repaint?)

I am absolutly loving this line-up. I'm not too bothered by the AoA figures, but considering Sunfire and Holocaust seem to be the two figures everyone out there is customizing, then there's obviously demand for 'em. I could do without Punisher, but everything else sounds great. Looking forward to some actual pictures. Will we be seeing those at SDCC?

FA Daredevil: ugly costume, and I already have a good daredevil

FA Storm: must have, best storm ever

Nova: never followed the character, don't really care

Bradstreet's Punisher: I have a good punisher, will wait and see

Silver Samurai: not the best character but you can never have to many villians

AoA Sunfire: Hasbro has listened, absolute must have, AoA rocks out loud

Tigra: I don't really care about this character

BAF Nemesis: Holocaust is bad ass, this should easily make it into my top figures

I'll likely get the whole series to get the BAF, then sell of the ones I don't want. Hasbro needs to keep the AoA and ultimate u. coming. I wish we got armored daredevil instead, and punisher is just an Icon shrunk down, wish they did icon vemon instead.

If (if!) true...awesome lineup!

But I'll believe it when I see it.

As Ronaldus Magnus said "Trust, but verify."

Also...Tigra??

TIGRA!!!!

SWEEEEEEET!!!! My fan-boy heart is beating wildly! I remember when she first appeared as Tigra in 1974...a hot chick in a bikini with a tiger's tail, fangs, and fur...to quote Garth..."I felt kinda' funny..."
